You're wild for giving Edgerunner's OST a 6. Pretty much every song is a banger.

Ah, I see. Essentially, weighted scores. I totally get that, and it makes sense. I appreciate the reply.

I agree with the points you made in your Cyberpunk review, but I don't understand where you got a 4/10 from. Averaging your sub scores gives a 5.6/10 (6/10).

It's whatever. You can obviously rate stuff however you want; just something I noticed.

Very good review with cyberpunk and yes it does remind me of Akame ga kill ending.

Good review on Cyberpunk Edgerunners. I also went into the anime without having played the game before. It felt like that was requirement (having played the game) to truly grasp what's happening and there the anime failed in my eyes. But I also found the characters very lackluster too so I agree with you on that as well. I gave it personally still 5/10 though, it was still an okay watch overall and visually gorgeous.

Thank you so much for that Beast Tamer review, I despise the living shit out of it. It was so frustrating to the point I had to stop watching that madness.

Came here to complement the Cyberpunk review. I thought I was alone in a world of people awed by the show. You tell the truth. You are based.

Since people want to come here and complain about the Cyberpunk review, here's the spoilers review.
GoldenFinger (can't remember his name, oh well) starts yelling at a random guy pissing in the street in one episode. WHY? Even in the first episode it's shown that there's tons of hobo/lazy assholes all over the streets watching VR porn or getting high as shit. So why bother with this particular hobo? Oh well that's bc this hobo is a psycho and goes to blow his head off. This seemingly random string of events is purely for shock value and to give motivation to David, who's still to much of a pussy to fire a gun even a a target. Killing off a side character for MC development is shitty writing.

Next, there's David and Lucy. At this point, I assume it's like 3 years into the future since a decent amount has changed. David is pushing it too hard and Lucy tells him to cool it and uninstall League of Legends, which he follows by saying maybe we should just break up. What the actual fuck? Why do you have to be in every mission, where is the rest of your crew, do you really expect me to believe the only one person you tried to hire all this time just blew himself up like an idiot and no one else offered to join? The guy who blows up very clearly knew who David was too, so it's not like they aren't well known, so why is it still just David, Rebecca, and Kiwi? Oh right, the show is only 10 eps long, we cant afford to crowd the story any more than it already is. Also what the fuck is this sudden change in character in general? He doesn't shoot a gang member bc he's giving David puppydog eyes and almost dies if he didnt have Rebecca's help, and then you want to turn around and pretend he is a badass. Is he a pussy or is he the big hero, story? You can't have both.
Then there's the whole other half of the stupid putting a wedge between them story of 'I must hide David from big company.' Why? They very clearly know about him already, and not just the one that you guys killed, so what are you actually accomplishing other than leaving a trail of bodies and making yourself a target of said big company? Even with you assassinating the hackers, they still made a plan to trick David to get in the mech, so you basically accomplished nothing.

And then, Rebecca. Rebecca actually grew up in the time skip in the fact that she's far less reckless with her own well-being like the Goldenfinger fiasco, and it's a nice touch that she still has a soft spot for David, even though she can't have him like she wants. And then randomly she reverts back to her pre-timeskip self once Black Adam falls out of the sky. It's very obvious, that shooting at him isn't going to slow him down or make him change course, so it's a simple dodge roll out of the way to not get squashed. I get that TRIGGER may have forced the character in bc they 'wanted a loli', but this is just an incredible slap in the face to anyone who liked this character but giving her such a sudden and unceremonious end. Fuck off

Don't post in my comments anymore about how 'I don't get' your beloved masterpiece of a show, I'm tired of deleting your messages.

Came to drop a comment for the cyberpunk review - just in the interest of making you see the story a little differently as thats what you marked the lowest.

I imagine what you were hinting at with your review was that you couldn't understand David's actions and that to yourself it felt shoehorned in to present a conflict but to that I would argue that you have misunderstood both David and Lucy's character somewhat.

David, in my eyes, is shown throughout the course of the series to have a unique kind of Savior Complex that drives him to enable the dreams of the other characters - in particular Lucy and Maine, Lucy's dream of course had been going to the moon, though this is just a guise for her desire to feel free and safe away from Arasaka and unknown to David their relationship satisfies those desires, she would rather be safe with David than go to the moon.

Maine's dream we're shown is to be one of the most renowned Cyberpunks/Mercs, a simplistic dream but David takes this more to heart as Maine clearly becomes the father figure in his life throughout the small montages we're shown.

With both of these things in mind it makes complete sense for David to act the way he does, amassing both renown and eddies so that he can finally achieve Lucy's dream, and of course when faraday and Arasaka threaten the safety of Lucy, David goes to suicidal lengths to secure her safety and passage to the moon, and though his actions could be been smarter - but we're shown that David is mentally quite naive in simplistic, but its what makes him endearing to the other cast of characters, as in a place like NC, David is unique.

Heavily recommend a re-watch as there are a ton of subtle details and visual story telling that elevate this series in my mind (for example pay attention to the lyrics of the song at the end of episode 4, fantastic foreshadowing).

Final note, your mean score from how you reviewed the show should come out to a 6 - absolutely criminal that this show is ever rated below Akame ga kill.

I get your reasons on the danmachi review but one thing about the character section, the group didnt believe Cassandra because shes based off a Greek legend who is also called "Cassandra". her clairvoyance is a blessing and a curse at the same time because she sees into the future but the curse being its in cryptic code and no one ever believes her.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
