I remember getting home from wal mart with a DBZ Box set, I loved Dragonball Z, considering the only anime I had ever watched was DBZ and Naruto. Now I Know what you're thinkng - "This is supposed to be a review of Suzuka, not Dragonball Z." Well The point of my story is the ad of other Funimation Anime inside that boxset caught my eye. I decided to try one out, and that anime just happened to be Suzuka. This is the Series I remember as my "Gateway Anime". That's why I'm choosing to write my 1st review on it.
The
...
Story: The story was somewhat average, A country boy moving to the city and falling in love. However, That's not of how I thought of it when I watched it, or when I re-watch it. The story was something that had many twists. I could, and still can, relate to the story, as I'm sure most teens would feel the same way. That's Why I'm Giving the Story a 9.
The Art: The art was Astounding the first time I saw it. Now I know it's not the best artwork ever, but When I look at it today, I still think it's pretty good! However, As much as I love Anime, I'm not much of a critic on art style. Every Manga Artist is different, that's part of what makes the anime and manga unique. I'm going to give it an 8.
The Sound: I remember not being able to get enough of this Anime's Opening song- The song is called "Start Line" and is sung by COACH I believe. The first ending was also Pretty catchy. However, the fact that I had to look these songs up to remember them after all these years brings the overall sound to an 8.5, but I'll put a 9. ;)
The Characters: Now here was my main selling point on This Anime, The Characters. Now most people will probably tell you that the characters aren't very unique, They're just your average teenagers, with raging hormones, trying to figure out what they're good at, what they want, and basically who they are. I don't tend to disagree, but that's not what makes the characters dull, that's what makes them so amazing. They are so relatable, and I think that's a very important aspect of a good character. I'm going to give Yamato, Suzuka, Honaka, and every other character in this anime a 10.
The Enjoyment: I believe you probably understand by now that I enjoyed this Anime a lot. I reccomend it to Anime newcomers and Veterans alike, and giving it a 10 in the entertainment section. What I mainly love about this anime is the twists. I can understand Yamato's actions about 80% of the time, but Dang Girls are unpredictable. lol. (That's not a bad thing for all you ladies out their.) ;)
Overall: I'm going ton give this a 9/10. Although I can't begin to tell u how close I was to giving this anime a 10/10. In the end I decided not to let the sentimental value of this anime being my first raise the score that much. I'm going to rate it how it is, A very enjoyable Anime. I hope this review convinces somebody out there to watch Suzuka!
