Zetsuen no Tempest

Code Geass (R2 included) and Zetsuen no Tempest are quite similar in many ways ranging from underlying themes, presentation, and characters. They both share different Shakespearean elements and themes reflected in Hamlet (revenge, martyrdom, etc.), but this aspect emphasized more in ZnT for different plot reasons (that I will not mention for spoilers). The greatest similarity is between the characters. Lelouch is most similar to Yoshino- both are cognitive individuals who remain calm even when the time is most tense and think things through. They both also have secrets that make and shape their character. Mahiro is most similar to Suzaku- both are rash individuals who jump straight into the action defying reason. Both also have a death of a loved one that fuels their motives. There are many more similarities between them, but the key ones (in my opinion) are listed here.
