The anime was trying something but it came out just trying to look like a copy of konosuba and other parody anime but it got repetative real quick for me. The repetative setups, jokes and Seiya himself was my problem.
Story 5: if you've seen a good number of isekai it's the same here. Average guy sent to another world to fight the demon king but he's over cautious and overpowered. That is the story and joke in a nutshell. A back story was told (which was more interesting imo) but was added too late that I didn't get that invested in it. They kept the
...
ending open I'll give them that.
Art 5: it didn't blow me away and there were delays but it was watchable unlike that other show.
Sound 4: It was there but nothing was memorable. The op was okay, I didn't skip it but I'll probably never listen to it on its own.
Character 4: Seiya could have work but his personality and routine in each episode made him unbearably boring. The setup and payoff are all similar. Demon shows up, they show up and aqua- oopss! Lista tries to defeat said demon and fails then Seiya will say he needs to train. Watching that repeatedly makes the anime boring and that should never happen since anime is a form of entertainment but cautious hero manage to bore me in the later part of its run.
Enjoyment 4: I had hopes for this anime was let down but unless you're someone who just started watching anime you might like it.
Overall 5: if you seriously loved this anime I wish we are the same after all I always hope every anime I try will be good or even great but sadly Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious isn't ready perfect.

I was really curious about this anime since I've been seeing the light novel/manga around different bookstores recently. But all my hope for this anime was crushed with all the boring plot and characters this anime had to offer. I usually breakdown my review based on MAL's rate the anime but I I'll just list the problems I had with this anime. Somehow I made it through episode 5 but I think that's far as I can go.
THERE.ARE.TOO.MANY.CHARACTERS - What's worst is that the anime expects you to have read the lightnovel or watched other anime and just figure things out on your own. Yeah,
...
it's an isekai but if your planning to go that fast with the pacing literally anyone could've died and I wouldn't know their importance to the story.
EPISODE 1 - I had to watch this episode multiple times just to get what's going on, I mean they might as well put a huge disclaimer saying "ReAd ThE lIgHt NoVeL we'Re SkiPping a Lot of important tHinGs." I get that isekai is being transpoted in another world but skipping details is also skipping important character progression. This arguement has been done to death but whatever so here are some example of character/story progression.
SAO - I don't love/hate the series but you at least know why it's important for them to finish the game or at least not die inside the game. You know kirito placed a target on himself so other beta testers wouldn't be in trouble.
Shield hero - You understand why naofumi hate the royalty and refused to help others. You know why raphtalia and his party is important.
This anime however don't know what it wants it to focus on. Oh, send these disposable characters to another world. DONE. Oh wait, make the main character hate his classmates. DONE. Oh wait wait, make hime him find this loli vampire he can relate to and have a relationship with her. DONE. Ok, one more... etc. My tiny brain cannot comprehend why no one who made the light novel or anime questioned the decisions they have come up with.
I made it through episode 5 and heard the next episode introduced yet another character and yeah, I'm done with this anime.

I think that for anime adaptation of anything it can be approached by different possibilities. It's either you read the material and then watched the anime or you know some details about the source material but haven't really read it or you completely watched the anime without knowing anything. With the tokyo ghoul franchise I knew the existense of the manga and some minor details about it so my opinion on the entire anime series only rely on what the community is telling me and some small research.
Story 1/10: I have no idea what the hell is going on.
The first season while feels rushed and
...
incomplete it was still entertaining and knowing that it was only the first season I knew the possibilities for deeper exploration on the origin of the of the ghouls and characters can still happen in future seasons. Then root A happened. And then re and finally this re season 2. Idk what got to me thinking that things will get better when it isn't the case for this anime franchise. Things just happens and every episode I give less shit about what's happening and just waited for the anime adapt the highlight of the manga which 9/10 doesn't fucking happens and if does happen I just couldn't care since the anime's pacing is way too fast. Characters just appears and dies or tell you that they're dead but not really? What the hell man!
Characters 1/10 I counted 73 characters listed on this anime and has only 12 episodes.
This is the anime's biggest mistake. Whoever was in-charge thought that they can fit 73 characters under 12 episode and expects the viewers to care about them. Is that a joke? If I didn't look it up I'll probably only remember 15 name if I really tried and that's not including their significance in this anime since most the characters introduced in this anime just dies 5 minutes after their introduction or the worst offenders are those characters that "died" in previous season but SURPRISE WE'RE HALF-GHOUL NOW AND NOT REALLY DEAD. Kaneki changes personalities with each new season that really doesn't make any sense at all seriously he can be in the transformer's franchise. Finally Rize the most interesting character seems like an after thought and they just added her back when they remembered the viewers we're looking for her. I still can't believe how she died right from the beginning from the dumbest reason and kaneki a half-ghoul turns into a god mode when the plot calls for it.
Sound/Art 2: it's just there.
With poor story and characters I really couldn't care about the sound anymore. I only watched the entirity of the series just for the manga highlight at this point so watching it raw or without sound doesn't really matter. They also used the same trick from re season 1 and making the battle happen at night so less censoring will be noticed.
Enjoyment 3: The saving grace fight that I thought would make the anime at least more enjoyable was so dull I stopped caring anymore for anything.
I won't lie, the teaser from re season 1 for kaneki vs. Arima got me interested and thought they'll fix my biggest disappointment in root A but no they just fought in a white place and everything else was extremely underwhelming. From there I just watched this trainwreck just because I watched the previous 3.
Overall 2: Watch season 1 read the manga and the 2 ova. I don't know what got me to finish this anime but here we are. If you really loved this anime I envy you since you found enjoyment in something I tried to like but couldn't.

SPOILERS.
A proper title for this anime is "King's game the Animation: What would happen if Corpse Party have 12 episodes?" Because that's how I truly felt about this anime after thinking about it. This is the kind of anime that I hate the most since I gave it the benefit of the doubt that it will be an ok anime that has a balance of good and bad merits to it. But in the end I realize how awful this anime is and asked myself why I didn't drop it. In the end, the bad outweighs the good by a landslide.
The good: I sort
...
of like the ending (not really) because I kinda like the status of the winner of the kings game that being the one you'd least expect to win. Everything else is bad.
Story 2: It's bad. The thing is the story is so unengaging that I can only remember some bits of it. My main issue with the story however is the way they "tried" to tell 2 different stories AT THE SAME TIME (I wish I was making this shit up but look at the adaptation part of this anime) so it's no surprise I can't enjoy this anime because I constantly have to remind myself that they are telling two (2) stories at the same time and I have to figure out if they are telling the story of part 1 or 2. Having 20 to 30 characters to keep up is already difficult, multiplying that twice is just insane. The sad part is the story could've work since it's a basic follow the order or die type of story.
Art and sound 3: although I'm not good at giving critism at this area I will say that the style looks older than the one's that aired in 2017 and since this is a "horror" anime it's usually dark most of the time. The soundtrack as whole is forgettable.
Characters 3: out of 60+ characters I only kinda like one of them. And oddly enough it's Rionna mainly because she's a side character and it took me by surprise that SPOILERS she wins at the end. Idk she just reminded me of a different anime character. The other characters however: the main guy is the typical "I survived a death game and I have to enter again and try and warn others while being unconvincing and creepy." Then their's the yandere wannabe bitch voice by yui horie. The blue haired girl that decided to fuck her lover's bestfriend. The 2 annoying best friend of the lead character that believes in everything the protagonists says that dies. And a LOT more that I forgot and are pointless to search for.
Enjoyment 3: the only enjoyment I had was the corpse party like death that's way over the top that it becomes funny rather than being scary. Character decisions that's so stupid you can make a drinking game out of it.
Overall 2: I had my hopes for this anime since the description seems decent however my hopes took a huge dive as the series goes on. You have to keep your attention up just to get a gasp of what's happening on screen, however because I dislike the main characters so much keeping my attention on screen was a task on it's own and I hate it when watching anime feels like becoming a task just keep up with the story.
Will I recommend it? It's your time, knock yourself out. But there are far more better anime with the same genre done 100 times better.

This anime was wasted because of generic protagonist #98726. If it shifted towards the conflict between the yakuza and the beehive the story could have been better but no it had to be that generic harem shtick. This might as well be an isekai anime since the characters are so unrealistic.
Story 3: It's a harem. Guy likes someone and shocker she likes him as well. Did they do anything about it? Well he's no generic guy if he decided to make a move now. It's so frustrating to watch how the main characters are so afraid to make a move knowing they like each other.
...
What's worst is none of them seems to take a hint.
Characters 1: raku is one my most hated character. He's nice and suddenly all the characters are going for him. What!? Chitoge is the tsundere that wins in the end. Kosaki is the childhood friend that loses (oops, is that spoiler? Idc). Tachibana is the sick girl that loves raku and loses. I forgot the rest of the casts.
Art 6: It's made by shaft of course it's good.
Sound 4: op's are decent. I never really cared for the ed and ost.
Enjoyment 1: like I said before if it shifted it's focus on the conflict between the war of the two gangs and made the false engagement between raku and chitoge a side story this could have been a better anime. For instance make 1 member of the yakuza have a grudge on someone on the gang but because of the cease fire he gets a dilema of pursuing his revenge or maintaining the peace among them.
Overall 2: if you're new to anime you might find something to like about this show but if you've seen a lot of anime this will be frustrating to watch. Especially that ending.

Fanservice in anime doesn't really bother me with some few exceptions. This wasn't too bad I guess. It's a beach volleyball anime after all. What really bothered me and made me drop this anime was the tone shifting. I don't know why but this anime always has the worst timing when changing the atmosphere in a given situation. One moment everything is normal then a melodramatic moment (mostly backstory) is brought up then all the suddenly something unneccesary comedic thing will happen.... I mean come on at least keep the tone of the scene last longer than just 2-3 minutes besides the actual game which
...
also has some weird back story mixed into them why character a can/can't do a certain thing during the match.

The first five minutes killed the entire franchise for me. It has been more that three months since I last checked the series and never looked back since then. That stupid television dance gag made me tab out quicker than I did with any other series. I couldn't find the point why they had to alter the ending of born for something stupid. Was the 4th season any good? I have no clue. I'll leave the answer to those who find enjoyment in this series. The first three season was ok I just couldn't handle that opening scene and find any reason to watch the
...
series anymore. And I just want to let my frustration out on a series that I thought was getting better. The new animation was ok and I'll give them that. But I'd rather watch something else that's good rather than something that was just okay.

I had no idea who green lit this anime but they should have atleast tried to fixed root a before jumping into re. I haven't read the manga but I get the gist why "season 2" was a hot garbage. And to be honest even without reading the manga there are a lot of things I can see that the studio who animated this have skipped.
The story 2: So kaneki just jumps from one group to the other? At first he denied being a half ghoul but quickly jumps into anteiku... ok fair enough because they treat him well and taught him how ghouls fit
...
in society. Then he joined the group that tortured him to protect the people in anteiku... what?! Wouldn't it be better if he just stayed in anteiku so if things turns south he'd be there to protect them? And now he is in the ccg because....reasons, I guess? The story to me seems basic enough in a good way. Finding a place/society you will fit in despite being different, great. But the anime just want to capitalize on the action fights thus making the story a complete mess especially to those who just wants to watch the anime and not read the manga. And that's the biggest problem right there, if someone who isn't an avid manga reader but enjoys anime saw this adaptation of tokyo ghoul it failed to convince it's new audience to read the manga since the anime is a mess.
Art 5: at least the censored scenes were not that off putting but I can tell what they're censoring. Nice try.
Sound 3: I know unravel is masterpiece but can't they at least think of something new? As much as I hated root a at least the music was good. In here I couldn't think of a memorable song from the op, ed or even on the ost.
Character 3: So after under developing the characters from season 1&2 you'd really expect me to care about these quinx? Whatever happened to rize? They told the audience she's this big deal for being a bindge eater but we never see her again other than from kaneki's head. The anime just keeps on shoving in new characters and sets them aside like they never exists after a couple of episodes.
Enjoyment 3: The action is sometimes cool and other times underwhelming. Not knowing what's going on is leaving me little to no care whatever happens to the characters. Anyone could die and I would completely forget them after an episode or two. And that's not right, the story and characters must be the strongest selling point of an anime and keeps the audience invested. Root A did not end but just stops and decided to tell a new story and expects it's new audience to read the manga before watching the anime. That's also wrong since I heard from some friends that read the manga didn't liked the anime because of skipping too much important details.
Overall 3: Season 1 was somehow good season 2&3 was just confusing and I didn't know what happened.

This anime could have been good given its concept and ideas but decided to be cliche and just follow a conventional romcom that has been done thousands of times already. If I were to describe my experience with this anime it would be a "trainwreck that I could have avoided but decided to experience it and regret it later on". I have a lot more to say about this anime so bare with me.
Story 2: The concept about arranged marriages to help alleviate the declining of the birth rate is interesting but it fails to explain it deeper as to why a certain individual is
...
choosen to be your partner. How are two individuals choosen to be partners guaranteed to produce an offspring in the future? Were they or their parents tested before to make sure the 2 individuals in question are guaranteed to produce a healthy offspring? Have this system failed before? If so, what did the government do about it? Maybe I just didn't pay attention enough that it went over my head who knows
Art and sound 5. The art and sound is decent enough in today's standards. Nothing too bad or amazing
Characters 2: the main lead was the most frustrating main lead that I have seen for a while. Sure the guy isn't densed but that doesn't make him automacally a good character. If he really likes Misaki isn't it more logical that he talks to his parents and the parents of lilina and misaki's parents instead of talking to some random government officials that won't take him seriuosly and answer his questions? Yes, the three of them knows each other's feelings but it didn't get them anywhere at the last episode of the anime and just stagnates frome there
Enjoyment 3: I liked the series until the yaoi part that caught me off guard. I'm no fan of yaoi nor do I have problems with it. It just felt like after that shock factor nothing else happened. Plus the anime also failed to explore what happens to this kind of situations. You can't bring an interesting concept and just leave it for shock value and do nothing with it. That's like buying your favourite food and just given to a random person without even tasting it or in this case exploring it.
Overall 2: I know it's just anime but the potential was written all over the first few episodes only for it to go downhill and I couldn't help myself regret watching this anime.
