High Score Girl...
An actual Romantic Comedy about gamers, involving gaming! Unlike that other series that came out a few years ago!
I remember many years past when the manga source of this series began, I read it since chapter 1 and how fun the story seemes to be. It has become one of my best loved RomComs about gamers from the many that had come years prior, and that other novel one that made certain controversy.
What I liked about High Score Game was the down to earth story about typical gamers and their life. It also teaches about the gaming history for console games and games
...
that came our since 1980s.
The flow is regular, and they actually show gaming in it.
The romance is the typical rival-turns-love type, and the love rivalry drama Japanese otaku loves to much (with the competition of who is best waifu).
I remember that half way I started wishing that the manga would obtain an anime adaptation... and I was disappointed that, that other one got the anime adaptation instead.
But when I heard High Score Girl had the chance, I pumped my fist up and yelled "YIOSH TTAAAA!!!"
And then I finally managed to hear Oono Akira's unpoken voice for the first time... I actually cried.
It was so adorable!!!
What I didn't like much about the series was the animation though... I can't believe this story, having the better story plot, recieve such poor cheap animation.
Its all corcky and sometimes looks like stop-motion.
But what you expect when this anime was animated using 3-D models in an advance form of Cell-shading instead of the normal digital animation of frames by frames.
Maybe if they had used motion-capture, it would had look better or at least give it a bit more revision for more fluid movements, but most of the characters moves as if they were robots.
Anyways... High Score Girl is the story about Yagushi Haruo, a gamer Otaku who started his unbeatable championship in fighting games since elementary school, and his meeting with his arch rival, Oono Akira... a Ojou-sama that became his beacon in life for the crown of gaming in his town.
Haruo is just a typical kid, laid back and loves games. He always talks about games and always playing games. He had the title of undefeated until Little Akira stole the crown from him, and since then he has seen her as a rival and object in life (to beat).
Akira is just your average rich girl "princess" who was submitted into carrying the family inheritance since her older sister abandoned everything. Since she could not make a life, she dedicated herself to play games as a stress relief making her a gaming genius.
Then there is Koharu Hidaka... the love rival... because Japan can't live without the stereotype love rivalry drama in their series....
Koharu was Haruo's class mate in middle school, she began to get interest in him after seeing him playing a fighting game in her dad's shop and then got introduced to gaming. She went into the world of games to try to make a place for herself in Haruo's heart just to learn that Haruo mostly does things for just one girl... his arch rival, Oono Akira.
Since then the love rivalry for Haruo's attention began between the rich girl and the commoner girl.
Of and all, I really love this series and how the author was creative with it to make something believable in romance between gamers.
But acquired all those copyrights to be able to use official names for actual games must had cost a ton of money... which maybe is why the budget was so limited and the animation was mediocre.
It would had been epic if it had fluent well done animation.
So my final judgement would be:
10 for such an unique story and well done plot.
10 for such an original artwork that is not like another.
7 for sound because well it was average.
10 for such unique human-like characters.
10 for enjoyment because I love this story.
and 7 for overall because well... like I said; the animation could had been better.

There was a time back in the golden age of anime... where Hentai and visual novel authors actually put effort into making something original and decent "porn with plot", intead of imitating and using the same formula over and over again.
It was in the 1990s and early 2000;
SeeIn Ao is one of them. This 'hentai', if we could call it that, feels more like an R-rated drama love story than an actual hentai. Episode one actually looked hentai ish on the sex scenes but episode 2 looked more like borderline hentai/soft porn. I say this because episode one actually showed genitals while episode 2
...
it was done with little glances; and they empathized more on the drama than the actual sex scenes.
SeeIn AO has two arcs done by same episode and yes, both do connect.
The Male protagonist is Kyoya, a guy who left his home town after graduating from marine biology and joined the research faculty located on a remote island-city.
First episode/Arc centers around Miyu and Yumi, two supposed twins sisters that went orphan after their parents died in 'an accident'.
Miyu has a crush on Kyoya after he saves her life from drowning and Yumi helps her sister, which she adores and devotes to, realize her love... but Yumi has a deep secret that Miyu does not know...
Second episode/Arc, we dive in into Kyoya's past and the reason why he left his family. His little sister, who is actually his step sister after their parents remarried, came to stay with him after their mother was moving for reasons i dont remember. But the real reason is that Yui, the little sister, wanted to be with her big brother to help him heal after their long lost; and wanting to declare her love for him in the process telling him that he is not alone in carrying the heavy burden about their mutual older sister who died of a heart attack since she had a weak heart after they taking a trip together to the sea.
I actually did not felt aroused by this film but actually felt intrigued. In my eyes I could see it as just another R rated film about romance, drama and the bonds of family than just some mere porn to jack off. And for that I am really satisfied.
Its unfortunate that hentai of now days don't try anymore to be decent and put effort into it and just imitates the same stereotype formula over and over.
And its a shame that not many people actually appreciate the effort of people in the 90s put into making something decent.
The animation also was decent for traditional creation and the heroines were cute and down to earth.
This film was enjoyable.

Its been a while since i've submited a review to a hentai.
However, tournaments of the gods does not feel like a hentai.
It feels more like an R-rated action drama than just mere porn.
This series is based on a visual novel for i gather which was adapted to a 3 ep ova.
The story is simple. A guy warrior with a love interest enlist on a tournament to claim her back but get himself involved in something deeper than what it looked like.
Taking heads and claiming women, its a bit of a semi-harem genre since he gets to do many women but has 1 main love interest
...
and 1 sub love interest.
Well, the art is good, even if most of the women were kind of anorexic.
The animation is also quite good for being a 90s OVA.
And the sex scenes were border vanilla. By border i mean it had some rapes in it but it was tolerated but more than simple sweet and fluff the sex scenes were passionate and raw of emotions.
Its a primal's gold mind since they were not as cruel but also intense.
For those who want some fantasy epic action with hot sex, I recommend this series.

Sypnosis:
From the same artist as the Konosuba manga series comes an epic comedy that breaks away from the traditional Isekai genre stories!
Kemono michi is a story about a japanese wrestler summoned to defeat the demon king, but there was a plot twist that makes one do a spit take.
It seems this wrestling maniac has a fondness for pets and wanted to create his own petshop but could not do it since he got summoned.
And like most isekai, he drags a harem of companions which are kemonos (beastpeople) humanoids with animal ears and/or tail.
Shigure: The silver wolf girl and personal assistant and co-worker for the protagonist's
...
store. The tsundere of the team and the one who actually does the actual work. If it wasn't because of her the store would had already fallen apart.
Hanako: A half dragon girl lolita who joined him after he gave him a lecture about the wonders of pets. She is curious and naive and has a thing for food and biting things.
Camilla: A noble vampire woman who is also Hanako's subordinate. She is obsessed with Hanako to the point of worship. She is also the pain glutton of the group; As she always gets the beat down from the protagonist by her stupidity or the monsters when the group goes out pet taming.
Just by the absurd beginning, I got hooked with this manga. The sheer act of what he did in the prologue was enough to hook me up as it breaks away on what isekai was about.
And the plot twist is that this story is actually a slice of life comedy about an eccentric Japanese man who is into wrestling and manages a "Monster Pet" shop.

Princess + Propose, aka Puri puro by ITOU EI
What a refreshing series.
The characters are down to earth, mature and realistic. The Mc is sure of himself and not an useless wimp like modern harem series MC are becoming (And his johnny is realistic too).
Plus, the heroines here are sure of themselves, strong willed and not easily broken or manipulated. They feel more human and not ideals like other series heroines feel.
Especially the maid, she is a true domme; not letting anyone break her will or dominate her easily and counter attack and bring the game to her pace without bending like a true bdsm domme
...
should be. And yet she is kind and motherly that deals with situations maturely instead of bringing abuse. She is one Badass Maid mistress...
I really give this series a 10/10.
Story synopsis is:
Kiyoshi (MC) is your average guy that minds his own business to leave a peaceful life. One day while he was making his meal and watching Tv, his door burst open and entering was a blond girl dressed in a frilly dress and her maid.
Turns out that she is Remina, a princess of another nation, and she came to claim Kiyoshi as her husband! Turns out their great grandfathers became close friends and pulled a Ranma 1/2 on them (LOL), I mean, they made a pact (while drunk) to unite their families through marriage with their children. Turns out that after the pact, most of the family members born were male so it wasn't until the great grand daughter was born that the pact could take effect.
Naive and gullible tsundere princess then request Kiyoshi on how to be a wife and about sex.
And you can guess the rest.
Then in comes, catching it act, Tomoe. Kiyoshi's childhood friend and landlady of the apartment she lives in. Turns out she has feelings for him too and don't want the princess to take him away (who figures? lol)
Then there is Kanae, a kuudere (expresionless) personal maid to Princess Remina, who is synical and sassy and likes to tease and bully her mistress... and deep inside she is one strong willed Dominatrix and takes advantage to Kiyoshi's good nature, but began to care about him in the long run... even if she uses him as a guinea pig for her medical experiments and poisons.
And then, there is Remina's little sister, Elina; who has a big sister complex and hates Kiyoshi for "taking away her onee-sama" and wants to assassinate him.
Yeah this story would had been awesome if it was longer but since its hentai the plot is short and to the point and only is covered in 9 chapters, with a harem ending.
I did not find the characters here obnoxious and they built up the reasons and why-es so i find ti acceptable. And the characters are well liked too and not annoying.
Which is a change of pace.
I recommend this series.

Nisekoi... what can i say...
Well, just that is just a cheap imitation of To Love-ru without the alien and super natural stuff with a touch of Love Hina.
At least the Nisekoi one-shot prototype's story was way different and way better than the serialization but I'll talk about that bellow.
Yes I am talking with both the manga and Anime.
If you look at it right, Nisekoi has the same theme as To Love-ru, with the idea of a promised girl from Love hina.
...
Rakku/Chitoge/Onodera are in the same situation as Rito/Lala/Haruna, (And even act the same way).
Then there is the promised lock with a promised girl that is the same as the promised girl and the whole theme scenario as Love Hina with Rakku/Chitoge/Onodera being same as with Keitarou/Naru/Mutsumi.
And guess what?! Chitoge acts like Naru, Onodera acts like a tamed version of Mutsumi-mix-haruna, then we have Tsugumi who is a loosen based on Mokoto.
Is this a coincidence? I think not. Since its been so long since Love Hina was out and only hardcore fans remember it.
But to Love-ru came out earlier than Nisekoi so that one was fresh on mind.
Why no one has noticed it?
Then there is the Nisekoi prototype:
A one-shot story about two rival yakuza gangs whose kids were childhood friends/rivals with a slight crush on each other. Both families made a truce to marry their children for peace between the rival gangs.
Then after an argument of the two from a promise Rakku saves Chitoge and both declares the love for each other.
Honestly I would had liked for author to keep to this story instead of that cheap imitation of to love-ru and love hina fusion.
But I do not blame the author mostly... I mostly blame the mother fucking editors who 90% of the time forces the authors to come up with this stupidity to milk a series and gain profit because its what's popular on the market.
And I got enough with only one fan-service annoyance with To Love-ru I do not need another.
If they would had let the author continue with the original idea i would bet Nisekoi would had come up way better than it's actual finished product.
I give Nisekoi a 6 out of 10.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
This story is NOT about games. IS NOT about gaming. And IS NOT about gamers (per se).
>>This story is about misunderstandings<<
Just because we have games involved, and gamer characters does not mean this story is about games, that is just collatheral.
And I have that fact by the proof that so far in the light novel, none of the character are shown participating in competitions or doing a lot of gaming besides certain scenes.
...
To understand you need to put yourself in a Japanese person stand point and think how they think. Because this series was made for THEM.
In a way this story is a comedic protest to how japanese people always jumps to conclusions based on impressions or misunderstanding views and how they never talk about it to clear them because "it affects the harmony of the whole".
I've seen people dissapointed with the series because they cant stand the misunderstandings because they had the impression this story is about games, which is not.
Now up to the review:
Gamers!
Is a story about a bunch of gaming kids that love to play games.
Some use the games to gain prestige and win competitions.
Others just play to have fun with them and be casual.
Then we have the pressure of the normalfags who make fun of them.
Between the characters and their low confident or low self esteem, we have the typical case of japanese person who asume things based on image and impressions and how they dont feel worthy to others.
Pushing their views to others and how they always jump into the wrong conclusion based on image and how they always keep everything inside without talking about it.
This is the beauty of gamers!
An exageration of the infamous japanese misunderstanding thoughts based on impressions!
A bunch of teenage kids who likes to play games which end up assuming things based on their low self esteem and impresions coming to the wrong conclusions and never talk it out to clear them.
And since its an exaheration it gives charm to the comedy of it.
Which also add some dramas and facepalm moments which makes this series enjoyable!
Its like a rollercoaster thrill of ups and downs and mishaves that makes you sometimes cheer for these characters and other times just punch them.
First of all we have Amano Keita:
A casual gamer otaku with low self esteem that really wants to make friends to have fun with games in a joy and casual form. But dont insult his friends or else he will bite at you.
Sadly his low self esteem makes see himself unworthy makes him always jump to conclusions and exagerates the pesimistic view in his mind.
Second we have Tendou Karen:
A princess type girl who is the madonna of school. She is into competition gaming to gain prestige and fame. She rebuilt the gaming club for such actions as the previous club members won many trophies so she dont want to ket them down. Also the principal let her have the club with the condition to gain prestige. She also dislike casual games and sees them as trash since you cannot win competitions with them. (Reason why i began to dislike her, i took offense to that). Fell in love with Amano after she hears him defend her and her club in a valiant way. Since then she sees amano as a prince and tries to recruit him for her club to be with him but ended as his girlfriend by a misunderstanding.
Third is Uehara Tasuku:
An ex game otaku now turn into ikemen. Became friends with Amano by a misunderstanding as he saw the kid had gust in the end when provoked. He has the chuuni habit of talking to himself in a superior sense as if all of them would be lost without him. He also decided to be Amano's wingman for the girls that were interested in Amano making himself wall in a riot of misunderstandings because of it, but he is not far into jumping to conclusions.
Fourth is Aguri:
A nerdy girl turned-bubbly-bishoujo who had a crush on Uehara since middle school. After she saw him change she changed herself to fit his liking and ended dating. But also fell into a riot of misunderstandings as she also jumped to conclusions after she saw Tasuku interact with other girls (when he was working as Amano's wingman). She ended up becoming good friends with Amano because of, as Amano tries to help her save her relationship.
Fifth comes Chiaki:
Another gamer girl who is the female synonim of Amano Keita. Chiaki met Amano when he came to her class after Uehara tried to hook them up. Everything started well, both of them likes same things, same games and get along... Until they discovered they have different opinions about certain games then the bickering began. Since then Chiaki and Amano act like a bickering married couple which made Uehara wonder why dont they just hook up. In the end it turns out that Chiaki is in fact Amano's admired doujin game maker and his best game partner Nobe and Mono.
Sixth is Konoha:
Chiaki's little sister who was dragged into the mess thanks to Chiaki herself. She and Amano hits it off and become good friends since they both love visual novels, but deep inside Konoha is a pervert who wants to bang bishoujo (cute girls) making her a bit of a lesbian or at least bisexual. Her preference is erogaming which she tries to keep it a secret to hide her lewd persona. She also becomes Chiaki's wingman (or wingwoman) as she tries to hook both Chiaki and Amano up.
And that is the whole deal.
"Gamers!" Is about teenagers getting involved in misunderstandings to add drama to their youth. Which makes the beauty of the series.

Classroom of the Elite... what can i say?
Well, for once the story centers about Japan's mania of hierarchy that everything is power and everything is competition and if you have no prestige nor power you are nothing.
Also involves how those on higher ranking statues are allowed to "bully the weak".
But that is not new for japan since 90% of their "competitive" stories are like that with their hierarchy prejudice.
Regardless this story rather than a harem rom-com is more of a drama.
We got Ayanokouji Kijotaka (which last name is familiar to me), an emotionless sociopath whose aim is to have a normal peaceful life and not
...
getting involve with anything or anyone but in the end he hides a deep dark secret.
But unlike others Mcs in other harem series, this one takes no bullshit from anyone... but mostly because he doesn't care about anything at all.
He just moves with the flow and decides what is convenient.
Crossing his path since first day of school is the first heroine, Horikita Suzune; A Himedere archetype girl who is the little sister to the student council president and has some-of-a brother complex. She seeks the approval of her elder brother and will do anything to gain his favor. Bringing here to become a lonewolf and isolate herself given to how low she has fallen bringing shame to her family. So she aims to raise to the top to redeem herself.
Following is the second heroine, Kushida Kikyo; a Japanese "Good Girl" who wants to be friends with everyone at school just to please herself and raise her ego. She is eager to please everyone and help them in all she can, while she preaches the ways of friendship.
Overall the story is fun to watch and is not obnoxious plus also tries to teach the Japanese people about how their hierarchy ways are flawed in many areas. And also showing the rest of the world how hard they have to live to survive.
All in all, Classroom of the elite is an interesting school competitive drama that teaches that prejudice is bullshit and even the underdog can be great.

This story throw me in a loop that I am almost with no words... keyword: almost.
To start off, this story feels more like a Josei smut romantic drama than hentai per se.
You have Kasumi, a honest and good nature housewife who has been neglected by her husband for x/y amount of time and she feels lonely and sexually frustrated to resort to porn and masturbation to "relief" her loneliness.
Then there is Ryoji, her political nephew that went to live with them to help them out in the absence of his uncle.
After a few incidents he began having feelings for his aunt (they are not
...
related by blood so she is fair, right? Well i do not think so much i still do not aprove of cheating, relationships and marriage should be sacred).
There is also Kasumi's sister Harumi who has the hots for Ryoji and Kasumi's daughter Mio who is cousins with Ryoji and has a brother complex to him.
A single man living among women what could go wrong? Well many things if you're in hentai like we are.
Regardless, Ryoji saw Kasumi masturbating and then it all went downhill from there.
I thought at first that this was going to end up like another of those hentai flicks that: Neglected or abused wife ends up cheating on her bad husband with a younger boy to relieve her loneliness and was going to use husband for financial support only.
but
PLOT TWIST!
The husband was actually cheating on her first, and he turned out to be a self-centered selfish douchebag! Who not only admited to her about cheating, he had the balls to force her to stop seeing "the man she cheated on him for" and live as a nun in his house and take care of it like a simple maid while he goes around and have fun with his flussy!
What an asshole!
And next is where things turn into a twist that really made me take a spit-take.
Which is why I think this is more of an adult drama than simple hentai.
She actually divorces the man! Unlike other hentai heroine MILFs in this situation, which in the end they stay with the abussive/neglecter husband to continue having affair with Mc or other or just cut ties with Mc entirelly and lives like a nun in her house; story took a realistic turn of events and after she thought of his treatment actually asked her husband for a divorce since she didn't want to live in a loveless marriage!
You have my respect author... seriously. This is the most realistic possible outcome and you went with it instead of just becoming generic with the other MILF hentai stories.
The reason why Kasumi divorces her husband is not to run away with Ryoji like her husband thought... No. (Husband thought she would just sit back and live as a slave while living off his money and he goes around fucking other women and she would just shut up and accept it, then when the divorce papers came up he said that she did it to run away with "that man".)
Kasumi divorced him because she did not want to keep living a loveless marriage where she would be used as an object or a maid and be neglected as a woman. This is the normal response from a decent and kind woman inside a loveless marriage and we all know that Kasumi was no gold digger, she actually was seeking comfort and attention. (Still her husband cheating on her was too much of a inserted convenience).
Ryoji is just a side result, because she did say that she would had gone with just anyone but in the end she fell in love with Ryoji after their affair.
If Ryoji would had come to the beach that night she would accept be with him, else she would had just moved on and gone somewhere else away from them.
Good thing Ryoji did went there since he was serious about her.
I had read on discussion about some people complaining that there was no action from Mio or Harumi.
People, this is a love story with sexual scenes so its bound to be romantic between 2 people also its not harem so of course the others would not be included on sexual scenes.
But do not despair! This story is based on an eroge visual novel, so in that visual novel you do get to bang the other two and perhaps another!
But the director of this flick decided to go with the MILF route only instead. (Perhaps Kasumi is the main heroine of the game but who knows I havent played it.)
So no worries, those two did had their chance on their routes in the game.
Well, i can't complain I feel satisfied with the ending. I would watch it again but not now. There are more flicks i need to review and my workload is heavy.
I'll give this story a 8/10.
