Before I say everything I hate about this season, I'll say what I do like. The artwork and sound are still good, the background design the team did was good and I still very much enjoyed the sound so no problems there.
But then everything else happened, and take into consideration during the season airing i was an anime only, with only 1 major spoiler (Norman returning) so i didn't go into it with any expectations other than Norman not being there for a while. even notice anything off, and then the time skip happened. That was the first red flag, a whole year skipped. I didn’t know what was going on, I didn’t even know most of the characters at this point, everything went so fast. But it wasn’t awful. And then Norman showed up, and I thought what the bloody hell is happening. So many things happened between episode 6-11 that it felt like a fever dream.
There was some random villain that had no development and just appeared, he shot himself, and all the other mothers were there. Norman tried to kill that one little demon girl. All of Norman's allies just all of a sudden didn’t want to kill demons because Ema said it was bad? So disappointing, nothing has weight to it. And then the ending, the god awful ending, what the hell happened? There was a slideshow. A bloody slideshow of showing all of these supposedly important moments, where the watchers had no idea what was happening, who these characters were, the importance of these moments. The audacity of cloverworks to waste their workers time, their money, and the respect that season one had gathered for them.
The pacing of this was so bad that I read the manga. And that wasn’t much better, it was longer, and had 1 pretty good arc. But other than that the whole thing is a mess, the anime is a dumpster fire, and I believe we should just wait for the promised Neverland brotherhood.
