A slow-moving slice of romance, Isekai, and a tad bit of action. What more would you want in a series? Tasty food of course! Luckily, all these things and more are heavily featured in both series.

Building a medieval nation can be a hard thing to accomplish, even with modern-day knowledge. Regardless of this the kings in both series take this challenge head-on and start reforming their countries by carefully maneuvering between the political and economical landscape with the end goal of reforming everything into modern-day society.

When normal every day humans recieve super powers only to find themselves inside a death game you know the fights are going to be good. Both series have this as there premise so expect a similar style of fighting. But even though the premise is similar the plots are both different enough that you can read one of them without knowing the outcome of the other, although they both feature a mystery which won't easily reveal its secrets.

Both series feature a main character who dies and gets reincarnated as a new born child. Because of this you will also see the MC grow up and learn about the new world he is in through the teaching of tutor(s). Also in both series, a unfortunate event happens just after the MC finishes his training causing him to travel around in the wider world and finally truly seeing everything the world has to offer. Because of the intense training both main characters are powerful in both magic and sword fighting.

When you get Isekaid you will always get a overpowered ability, right? Well, if you read one of the series you already know the answer, no, sometimes the MC gets unlucky. If you liked this aspect of the MC receiving some useless skill which he is still be able, by heavy improvisation, to make over powerd you will definitely like the other series. In both 100-man and Hitoribocchi the main characters fight to help a town/country, a small difference is that 100-man does this in the form of quests whilst Hitoribocchi does this in the expansion of one city by raiding dungeons. Both series also have a supporting cast who are more skilful than the MC yet are unable to use their skills to their full potential which forces to introverted MC to help them.

Delicious looking food every chapter, do I need to say more? In both Isekai Shokudou and Maid-san wa Taberu dake the main theme is exactly that. In almost every chapter you will find a unique dish which almost certainly will make you hungry. They also both have a calming feeling of a slice of life. A slight difference between them is that Isekai also features some more action like scenes whilst Maid hasn’t shown any of those kind (as the writing of this recommendation). Also in both of the series you can find a female main character who is dressed in a maid outfit.

After surviving an airplane crash the survivors find themselves stranded on a mysterious island where they have to fend off against the harshness of nature, and the worst of humanity. If this is something you liked you will definitely like the other series since this is the start for both of them. The story development, with the slow uncovering of a greater mystery, also feel pretty similar to each other.

Getting insane comedy out of everyday situations. This is something in which both series excel at. They do not only excel at this, they also have a very similar feeling whilst doing so. The male MC does something he does every day, finds a new supporting character, gets to know the characters, and finally gets dragged along a absurd path full of twists and turns which makes you wonder how the MC can even survive, yet along live daily, in such situations. The art styles are also similar to the point that they could have been drawn by the same mangaka (which they aren’t by the way). To summarise, if you like one of the series you will definitely enjoy the other!

The Japanese Self Defence Force fighting against a medieval fantasy world whilst diplomats scheme behind the scenes. This is something which can be found in both series. With both series being Isekai they also are both heavy on the world building, especially when introducing the governments of the other world. So if you like seeing the JSDF overpower some medieval warriors all the while learning the world though diplomatic conversations you will definitely like the other manga.
