Death Parade was by far one of the most standout shows during the Winter 2015 season. It demonstrates prowess in all critical aspects.
Story: 9
The storyline Death Parade follows can be somewhat episodic in nature. This episodic structure allows for new characters to be introduced at almost every episode with ease, and keeps the characters fresh for the viewer. I would best compare the characters introduced episodically in Death Parade to be most similar to those in Mushishi. If you enjoy episodic characters, then Death Parade is definitely up your alley. Within the same show however,

there are many characters which have development throughout and are critical to the story. These characters are designed to be quite likable and are easy to become attached to. The overarching storyline was both interesting and thought provoking.

Characters: 9
The characters were intertwined to the story, therefore my score for them is one and the same. As for the non-episodic characters, they were complex enough to further the story and promote development as well as give humor to an otherwise dark show.
Animation: 10
The animation for this anime was simply fantastic. Both the characters and the background were very well drawn and allow me to forgive the minute amount of CGI used for some transitions. The colors were well balanced between vibrant and muted to set the proper mood for each scene.
Sound: 10
As for the soundtrack, it doesn't disappoint. The title theme "Death Parade" and "Moonlit Night" will be favorites for me. The opening theme "Flyers" and ending theme "Last Theater" were appropriate in adding to the the overall theme of the series.
Enjoyment: 10
This show is a definite watch. The sub is phenomenal and the dub is completely acceptable as well. If it isn't already on your list I would suggest putting it off no longer.
