This show really is charming! The characters definitely make this show magical and entertaining with how different their personalities are, and the different styles of their groups. (Jaxx/Jaxx being a band and LEGIT having a more hype K-pop style sound, then Protostar being similar to a softer sort of J-pop maybe, charming and smooth yet upbeat if that makes sense. While it's not quite the same as Idolish7, I actually think this is more enjoyable when you aren't wanting to watch a show that's overly serious in certain aspects *Ahem* (Riku's illness and then other idol groups' competitive drama, etc.)
This show doesn't have as
...
much competition between idols, since they are all in the same agency, though I think that's what makes this show really charming. It has so much character interaction and encouraging moments, and I'm a sucker for friendships in anime!
In a way, I think this anime has a vibe similar to "My Roommate is a Cat," except an idol anime. It has quite a few funny moments, heartwarming happy moments, and some drama here and there for plot progression, but ultimately feels more like it's made to be a heartwarming, soul-lifting show. It's also pretty realistic and Akira is a very relatable character, especially in the first episode. It also shows the 3 members of Protostar working their way up from being online streamers to actual idols. The progression into this is pretty good as well. You see them struggle and pick themselves back up. It's a very sweet show!
I mean, what's not to like about a sweet, charming, and heartwarming idol anime? I highly recommend watching this if you're into anime that makes your heart sing with affection!
