Both protagonists live in a distant future of human society and learn more about the truth of their worlds as the story progresses, not only that but from beginning to end both protagonists drastically change from who they were at the beginning of the story. In short, the mystery presented in both of these shows is very similar, and there's significant character development in each.

I don't know what the hell is going in either of these but god damn are they enjoyable. I feel like the events in both of these anime are told out of order similarly. When everything connects and you look deeper into each episode you come out very satisfied.

They're basically the same show, main character has a harem and some of the girls in the harem are aliens. They're even animated by the same studio, Nyaruko relies more on references to other media to stand out compared to To LOVE-Ru, however. Even then, if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Bakemonogatari and Kubikiri Cycle are both written by the same author, NISIO ISIN, this makes both stories have pretty similar structures in how they tell their story. Not only that but both anime are animated by SHAFT and have Akio Watanabe as the character designer, which makes them very similar visually. Finally, both stories are very character driven with the main character tasked to talk/advance their relationship with the characters around them.
