There is one thing I can say about this show "Under-Rated"!
This show has been treated as quite "generic" and too "slice-of-life". I say to those people "You obviously haven't watched the damn thing"! This anime is exactly what you'd expect from a Key anime, very emotional. A lot of the scenario's in this show are pretty unique and are something you really DON'T expect.
Story: 8
So it's about a group of friends that decide to form a baseball team as a way to enjoy their last year together, seeing as Kyousuke, the one who essentially holds the group together, will be graduation soon. This is
...
sort of just an excuse to bring together all the characters, like the Drama Club in Clannad. The main MEAT of this story is "the secret of the world". Now, I'm going to look at this from an anime viewer's point of view (I have indeed played the VN), this plot point is quite interesting. Riki and childhood friend Rin receive a letter telling them that they must complete a number of tasks to discover the secret of the world. As the anime goes on, this plot point becomes much more interesting with plenty of hinting and foreshadowing, especially in the most recent episode.
Art: 7
Although I like the art in this anime, I have to say that it loses points due to poor animation in some of the earlier episodes. Some of it is WAY too noticable and just leaves a bit of a poor taste in my mouth. But the episodes that do have good animation, are REALLY good. Episode 14 for example looks absolutely fantastic and if every episode was like that then I'd easily give the art a 10/10.
Sound: 9
The soundtrack for Little Busters is great. It perfectly fits the show and the emotion in it. It's also just well composed overall. The only problem I have is some of the placement with the songs with some times. The sound director seems to like playing a track for like 5 seconds and then changing it.
Character: 9
The characters in this show are great and lovable. Every character isn't 2-dimensional. They have all have a personality that stands out, they have very interesting ways of talking (such as certain characters having a certain phrase or word that they commonly use such as "Wafu!" with the character Kud and "Kiniku! (Muscles)" with Masato) and along with that, they all develop in interesting ways and have some pretty tear-jerking backstories.
Enjoyment: 9
I thoroughly enjoy this show, and if it goes the same way as the VN does, it will DEFINITELY become my favourite anime. The comedy is fairly funny (although gets a little repetitive at times), the drama is well done for the most part and it's really just a huge variety of emotions which makes it really interesting to watch.
Overall: 9
Overall, it's a good anime, worth a watch and with the way they're going currently and me knowing where the story goes later, this anime looks to be very promising and could probably get into the top 15 animes by the end of it's second season.
