This is my first review of, so please forgive any mistakes. I would like to also have you understand that when I review from here on out, I don’t compare manga to anime adaptations. I base the ratings off of story, art, sound, Characters main and supporting, able to keep my attention, and lastly, how it moves me on a person note. Thank you.
Now Clannad is 10 out of 10 for hitting the spot on everything mentioned above. The story was absolutely solid. The main plot is always apparent even when an episode is about the few sub plots, which
...
were just as grasping, hilarious, and emotional enough to make me cry. The story brings every emotion to the table. Even the alternate story of the Main Characters love interest was just as enjoyable. All in all there was never a dull moment in the story and its progression. The art and audio where a 10 out of 10 as well.
The characters are the make or break of any series. And Clannad has the best character t5o character relationships I have ever seen. The main character Okazaki Tomoya, is an example of how someone in any anime should be. He not only is tolerable, he has a different way of dealing with every other character in the serious. Every character has an outstanding relationship with each other. Even the love plot is not your typical “MC surrounded by many of the opposite sex, and the MC can’t throughout the whole series just choose one love” plot. You, which is a treat I think, get to watch from beginning to end, the love that develops between two MCs in an extremely captivating journey. I enjoyed every character main and supporting. Each one was perfect in their own way to bring Clannad to its greatness.
Overall, everything Clannad is should be an example to many others as an anime that has almost everything in it. Each anime made needs to bring its own uniqueness to the table, whether an adaption or not. I don’t give ratings based off of what the manga was like, the previous season, or comparison to alternative stories. In doing so, with that type of state of mind you will miss another chance to lose yourself in the beautiful world that Japanese animation gives to us due to some petty reasons.
