Shit, shitty, shittiest and shithead were the most used words in the English dub. A major down-point to its enjoyment.
It stood out like a sore thumb and made the show worse than it could be, but that’s not everything, obviously…
The show has an interesting enough concept with the families, but it was too obvious from the beginning. Not like the rest of the plot. Most plot elements just appeared out of thin air with no further explanation, which made it hard to follow. But they didn’t stop there. The final episodes just put plot element after element onto the pile of plot, which resulted
...
in too many actions unexplained. Most just felt way too random and unconnected to the starting concept.
By the end of episode 12 I just felt unsatisfied by all the questions unanswered. I had to sort of force myself through the anime to finish it.
Well, but the art, which seems sort of generic, did a good job at underlining emotions like sorrow and hate. That’s basically the entire pallet of emotions most characters feel after a certain point. It made the show feel like spinning in place. No actual development happening, besides the plot progressing.
Despite those points, the world had a setup, which I could have enjoyed in a different setting. Same for the characters. I believe the was put much effort in creating them, as I can see the general idea of each, but some just didn’t seem to fit just enough.
And just a funny fact: The beginning of the ED reminded me of that one popular song from frozen.

I've watched this twice already and have recommended this to two different people. So yes, I recommend this to you reading this!
I'll be rating different aspects of the anime, starting with the animation style, art and atmosphere:
Artiswitch is one of the most unique anime I've ever seen. And that is due to the art, animation style and atmosphere. Watching those 6 episodes was the first time I've appreciated 3D animation. Despite it, the anime still felt hand made, which might be due to its art. It might be best described by the adjectives colorful, striking, artsy and cute-ish.
One of the best things created by
...
the art is the easily fast switching atmosphere. At first, you could feel at ease, the next confused and later everything could feel gloomy and scary. Perfectly fitting the story.
Starting with an interesting concept of combining shop-keeping combined with magic and the supernatural, the story gets progressively more hooking and deep/ dark with the climax advancing. Despite its short length, the plot is still round, and you will still connect with all the different characters, understanding their problems and emotions. Maybe even relating.
Speaking of the cast, they put a lot of effort in designing them. A lot of them get a great amount of outfits, each co-aligning with their problems/ wishes or just matching the current theme.
With the shop's theme, all characters undergo a change important to the plot. So does Nina the MC. As you get to the finale, due to Nina's development, questions from the beginning gets answered, which makes the anime feel round as a whole.
This effect is also accomplished by the sound design and music, each just as special as the one before.
Now adding some personal information:
This anime has impacted me plenty, in a healthy way. I still think about it often and believe many more could enjoy this piece, which is why I am reviewing this today and will continue to recommend it.

It was a good read, but I am unsure, whether to recommend it generally or not.
It has a very interesting theme and the setup of the story is well done, but it lacks in some aspects.
The design of the characters personalities is rather flat. Close to no development happened, suddenly action patterns switched up, some actions just seem senseless and there was a general lack of a red line or train of thought as the story came to an abrupt stop with one of the characters suddenly behaving different.
But as said, the theme of crossdressing is well executed, and it doesn't miss
...
the point of being an erotica one beat. Adding to that, the art is flawless with its modern stile. It even has some funny faces, when the character gets surprised or similar.
In conclusion, if you are on the search for something plot based, this might not be it, but as an erotica it will serve well.

Honestly, this was not satisfying to read, even though I gave it my best.
Throughout the whole manga, the feeling that was conveyed seemed kind of stiff and awkward, which may be doe to the topic of them being "worlds apart". Owada being unhealthily stuck on that thought, screaming unnecessary often made the development of the couple extremely slow and uncomfortable to read, which might also be why all the characters seemed flat personality wise and did not undergo any noticeable changes. Most of their actions felt unreasonably random or childish, same goes for the problems they encountered.
Throughout, there was a lot of unnecessary violence,
...
which was not used for self-defense or underlining certain aspects of characters. It just seemed like violence for the sake of itself, and it certainly isn't fun watching someone getting hurt for nothing.
Even though, later in the last few chapters, some slight changes were noticeable. Like them finally talking things out. But reaching the "satisfying" part of this manga takes proportional long for it being recommendable.
Besides that, the art is extremely appealing to me. It perfectly underlines some of the cuter aspects of Kato (e.g. his pretty looks) or the couple-moments they had. If I had to say, the last 30 or so pages were the peak performance of this manga.
Concluding, the uncomfortable parts pushed my rating down to 4 but, as it was exhausting to read, but the art and especially the last chapter pushed it back to 5. It is not good, but also not too bad. Just average
Everything is based on my personal opinion!

You can read this in just one day -or let's say within a short time period- trust me!
If you like Yaoi(BL) this will absolutely catch you as it did for me.
There are a few aspects that back up my opinion. On the one hand it is the unique story/plot and on the other hand the character design. You won't have the typical "trust-issue" arc as in "you looked at another man, we'll break up", which I find mostly annoying, and the MC won't deny having interest in man. It is amazing how open-minded the characters are, as for it has grated LGBTQ representation. No
...
one gets judged by their preferences.
Speaking about the character design. Look at the cover pls. Isn't he just pretty? But so are all the other characters. Not only by their looks. As mentioned, they seem very open-minded and welcoming. They appear like people you wouldn't mind being friends with.
Another aspect, which makes it fun to read, is, that the whole cast shares one and the same hobby. Reading their exited and passionate conversations makes you feel like wanting to be part of it. Or you just feel exited for them. Not needing to mention that everyone still is their own person and has own motivations and goals. Most of them are pretty round characters, most of them develop in some ways. For one, it might be opening up to some person and for another it might be realizing your true self.
As a perfect match, the art style underlines their prettiness, cuteness and whatsoever. It feels like, the heaviest focus went into the hair. It looks lively and if you are reading in high resolution or a physical copy you can see the voluminous looking details. A huge plus point for my rating.
And last but not least. The "romantic" scenes are just amazing. The development between the two characters made it even better, them going step by step. It will make your heart pound if you truly want to read this manga.
So all in all, it is a 10/10 for me.
It had me all hooked up, and I even feel like reading it again, as everything amazed me. I still think about the plot line and some elements from time to time. Even after 24 days.
Feel free to give it a shot and enjoy reading!

I fell in love with this Manga and the one-shot!
The first chapter immediately got me hooked up. The theme, plot and characters feel so interesting to me.
First, I could have never imagined that the whole "sweets store" theme would work out, but at the same time it was like a perfect fit. Giving so many great opportunities for cute scenarios. Even though their story started way different than I would have ever imagined... It was just so unique? Even dumb maybe? But in any case, it got me interested.
Second thing that totally got me, is the cute_ish art style. It suits my taste
...
just perfectly. It fits both characters damn well. Their impressions really stand out due to that. Not just their impressions. They themselves are interesting. First we have the rude and dishonest one and second we have the polite and honest one. They just add up perfectly.
Even though the structure and the end are pretty clear, I just want to see more of it. It had me laughing so many times in just these 5 chapters, and my heart jumped during the kissing panels and the one-shot.
This makes it 10/10 and totally recommendable!

So... I found this by pure accident...
It was during the MAL secret Santa event. I was doing researches for my gift on the user's profile and found this one-shot in their manga history. I had to read it. Just for the meme. So I forced a friend to read it too :) Came out he didn't, but he will!
I don't know if I regret it. No, not really. I mean, the art style is clean and I even had to lough while reading. Already more than I expected. The characters are just so stupidly funny and the "plot" was kind of obvious to me, but
...
exactly these points made it good enough for me. And it doesn't even take too long to read. A huge plus point for me.
In comparison, I recommend this. It is just hilarious in so many ways.
08ඞ/10ඞ
Edit:
My friend just read it. He hates me now :)

I just saw the cover while searching for something small to read and had the thought "I need to read it! NOW!". Just by the cover. The art style looked so fluffy and cute. Got me hocked in the firs second. The same works for all the character. The girl is so unbelievably cute and sadly I can relate to the main character ^^'
It made me so sad the see the little mermaid crying, broke my heart.
I really would like to see a second part because the ending kind of left me spoiled. I just love the art and would like to see more of
...
the characters.
I totally recommend everyone who comes across this to read it!
