The Taming of the Tyrant is a romance(?)/revenge story/"went back to past" manhwa with quite an interesting premise that is overwhelmed with problems like shaky worldbuilding, unclear characters, one of the most static drawings and narration that is borderline numbing. In other words its a piece of fiction that can't be recommended to everyone while still having some merits.
Romance as per google definition is "a relationship between two people who are in love with each other but who are not married to each other." and by that definition there is no romance in here but seduction and obsession. Which might have been very entertaining if
...
presented correctly. Unfortunately that's not the case.
There is a weird choice in storytelling as in chapter 1, author reveals every major plot point that will happen and the rest of the story is describing how the characters will get there. An attentive reader will notice and most likely be annoyed by holes and inconsistencies in the worldbuilding within first 30 chapters. The illustrator decided to draw it in the boring way, conveying any nuances within the characters visually is close to impossible while every scene happens in the same copy passed environments.
Readers that like strong characters might find Charlize - our MC, interesting, as she is morally grey and surprisingly active. That can't be said about anyone else in this story. Supporting characters are lucky if they have even one trait, which is not - they are charmed by MC. The writer has no idea how to proceed with the story in an entertaining way and wastes so much time repeating both story bits and dialogs. Absolutely no-one in this title feels like an actual person and whenever we are getting insight into characters thoughts its gibberish, repeating same thing over and over again.
I really want to emphasize how much repetition and inconsistencies are there.
The Taming of the Tyrant is a misleading title as there is no activity anyone should be calling taming in this comic book.
The only people that should pick it up genre enthusiasts, people who really like this particular artstyle or people with low expectations looking for a time killer.
