Report Szczelajo's Profile

Hello!

Hello!

I'm Szczelajo or Zel for short.

Feel free to message me or comment, I love talking to people.

My scores are quite high As I find enjoyment in the anime medium, I watch nearly every genre and I will gladly take any recommendations based on my watched list.

My planned list is stuck on a different site, so there is a 100% chance that something that I haven't watched yet is sitting right there.

I love anime man, my love for them expands to any type of guy with a clear preference [I mean just look at my favorites]. Choose an anime and I will find at least one guy to love. [most of the time, with exceptions]

I have a large list of my husbandos [over 2000], so my heart is open to the world of fictional man.
[if people act crazy about waifus, let be be the "weird" one for husbandos]

I also draw feel free to check out either my DeviantArt or Cara profile under the same username.
I take commisions :D!

"supernatural, weird little guys, wojna" haha świetnie to ujęłaś, dosłownie Ghibli w pięciu słowach XD

Yeah, I have never cared for parent-child pairings even as far as the idea of it portrayed in fiction (I mean, I don't mind at all and am not against it being included if it's part of the story, but not something I seek out as desirable), although I have to say that while I have always been in favor of things like first cousin pairings even in real life, as long as there isn't abuse or anything like that, I previously actually felt very similarly about siblings (at least 100% full-blooded siblings, as opposed to half-siblings/adopted/stepsibling situations), and it was only something like a series like Koi Kaze when I first got into and started out on my anime journey that caused me to re-evaluate what I guess was an automatic belief I had held almost without question prior to that. It honestly came as quite a radical shock to me at the time because I had lived my life previously leading up to that thinking I was always skeptical, questioning anything rather than going along with groupthink, taboos, faith, ingrained prejudices, etc., and that caused like something of an existential reality check. So that's why I'm eternally grateful to it and it's part of what taught me this medium of anime as an artform could really have potential whereas prior I was never interested in it and thought that it was all just fighting monster (Pokemon, Digimon, etc.), superhero, and combat/martial arts-type shows (basically battle shounen). I do like some of those series now (technically my #1 favorite series of all time falls into the battle shounen category), but I thought that's all there was, which was another ignorant belief.

So yeah, I also dislike the parent-child thing as of right now anyway (even if it's not from childhood/not a literal child, but adult son or daughter), but after the Koi Kaze experience I guess I'll say that I take a "Anything is possible, let's see if it can ever be explained or presented in a way which appears tasteful and reasonable to me" approach and don't discount the possibility of flip-flopping on my views at some indeterminate point in the future. I wonder if there would ever be an equivalent series for parent-child. It's too difficult to even fathom right now exactly how it would play out.

But yes, you have a great eye and I agree with those directorial flourishes elevating it. The direction, one of my two favorite OSTs in all anime/life in general (the Koi Kaze OST CD is actually one of only two purchases I've ever made of any physical anime-related items), the aesthetic of the watercolor backgrounds and all that - all play a role. The animation is a little basic/limited and I think has some mistakes in frames, but I'm not really an animation stickler or expert and the art style and color palette all just does it for me.

By the way, I've looked over your profile and also appreciate how you include a quick overview of evaluations of other non-anime series you've seen. I don't provide them with a numerical rating (I actually never really did the rating thing, especially with 1 - 10 numbers, before anime and joining MAL back in 2019), but I also list some of my favorite non-anime (live action and Western animation/cartoons) series and films on my profile, and I think it's kind of a neat idea to provide some potential context to one's favorites and tastes in anime.

But yeah, regards, and I'll see you around the forum!

Hihi~! I actually spent a long time on my profile lol, so really, thank you, you're so nice! ♡

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I recognize you from that recent "problematic anime" thread?

Speaking of that thread, I'm so happy that your post gave me more things I'm interested in watching now. Ishuzoku Reviewers is a must for me, I can't believe I've never heard of it before. And I've been meaning to watch Yosuga no Sora for the longest time; I really need to get on that!

Anyway, it's nice to meet you, and thanks for your friend request :3

> you know, this is one of the best explanation of incest in media I think, it makes sense, why some people desire it in both psychological level or as a purely fictional fetish. [I mean real incest, is pretty rare I think and fiction-reality doesn't always mix]

Thanks. In real life in most cases it's subverted as a possibility by the Westermarck effect, of those who grew up in close proximity with others not feeling sexual attraction to them later in life. This typically applies when the immediate family members are of pure and direct blood relation or not (as in the cases of adopted children and stepfamilies/stepsiblings) or even in completely non-familial relationships like with close friends and neighbors you grow up around from an early age. My stance on it is that I support acceptance/tolerance toward it and decriminalization and all that, but even if it becomes not only fully legal but socially acceptable, it's not like there'll be an explosion of it as there are still those strong psychological barriers preventing it anyway in most instances.

But that's why I think those rare minority cases where it does manifest and blossom despite the odds are a fragile beautiful thing. As far as fiction they portrayed it well in Koi Kaze because Nanoka and Koushirou escaped the Westermarck effect since she was just a newborn baby, then toddler at most, when their family was still living together before their parents' divorce and him and their father moving to a separate house. In my view it's quite heavily implied that a large part of the attraction (on Nanoka's part) was the mystique and the mystery of growing up apart, the longing to know and wanting to meet, and knowing the other as children. For I think if they had continued to live together and grow up together than the whole romance wouldn't have happened and their lives would have taken a radically different trajectory. It was borne of those very specific circumstances, including their "one in a million" style chance meeting later on.

But for me Koi Kaze is one of only 10/10s I've given to anime series out of hundreds seen, actually my first series which got me into the medium (which I guess isn't really the typical experience from what I hear from people), and basically perfect. But even if they don't bother me personally, I can definitely see and understand what you're referring to in some of the criticisms or issues that you had. They could show Nanoka's perspective more and even though it's based on a series authored by a female mangaka, it is a Seinen and so I think caters more to the male perspective (it actually shocks me and moves me deeply how well a woman author can get into the psyche of certain types of young 20-something men), and I think that's also why Koushirou is made to be more of a "realistic" male character than a greatly appealing one, either physically/visually or mentally/behaviorally or otherwise. That's actually why I've heard a number of girls/women didn't care for it as much, as opposed to the much more gallant and classically handsome male leads in other works. Whereas while I often refer to the series as one of the most realistic-seeming in all anime and it falls into a small niche (along with some childcare series) in that it just focuses on two characters in a very down to Earth family drama type story, I do think, contrary to Koushirou, Nanoka is a bit idealized for the male audience/readership (not dissimilar to some child protagonists in some childcare series).

As I said, those issues don't bother me but I can for sure see where someone is coming from if raising them.

And yeah, no problem - I agree that the wall messaging system on our profile pages is convenient. Sometimes it might be preferable to derailing a thread too greatly. You can feel free to write anytime if you have a question or comment/statement to share about anything.

Appreciate the friend request and your last comment in that "problematic" thread topic. Yes, I've definitely noticed your aesthetic husbando appreciation elsewhere in the forum (I think you were the one creating the 9x9 compilations recently?). Incest is a complicated one. I'm not so much sexually turned on by it either - I mean, I'm happy for the characters involved and enjoy seeing their experiences vicariously and by proxy if that is what they desire, but it's not so much a personal turn-on for me as much as it is emotional and psychological. I think it's more about the desire of ultimate intimacy with someone as inherently close as an immediate family member in every possible way, when you already possess an automatic closeness with them by blood/DNA (and sometimes upbringing together) than you could ever have with any stranger. I guess it's just more like an ultimate philosophical romantic ideal, from my vantage point anyway, than a purely sexual thing.

Age gap, I agree though. I like lolis, but my ideal relationships to be portrayed are the mid-teenagers with adults usually in their 20s - 30s. Like 15 - 16 on the teen end and at least mid-20s and up on the adult end. The teen can be a few years younger and the adult some years older, but that's about right. Therefore that's another way in which the central relationship in Koi Kaze is the epitome of the ideal for me, since Nanoka is 15 - 16 (one age at the start, the other by series' end) and Koushirou is 27 - 28.

Oglądałaś nagranie z kina na laptopie? Damn, that's some ghetto shit lmao

Z filmów anime to ja teraz absolutnie się nie mogę doczekać Chainsaw Man:Reze Arc, to będzie taki peak omggg I can't even describe it Mappa pichci master piece jestem tego pewien!!!

gyanburubii Jan 27, 12:53 PM
It's a great show, especially for us bishounen enjoyers! It's actually kind of similar to stuff like Gintama or Golden Kamuy in terms of how it combines silly comedy and more dramatic character moments it's almost February but my brain seems to be stuck in Secret Santa gift giver mode.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
