It's not a masterpiece, but it will stick with you for certain. The cast and the power sets are very diverse and frequently interesting. There is a bit of conflict between the fact that there are a metric ton of interesting characters with intriguing story hooks and the fact that it would be impossible to fully develop all of them. Depending on who you are this might create the feeling of a massive world that we're only barely tapping into which leaves the rest for you to wonder (and maybe read/make fan works) about, or you may be frustrated that character development is spread too ...

Not bad at all. Just a simple, goofy, casual watch. It's not the peak of comedy or anything, but it's fairly enjoyable just to wonder what bonkers nonsense is going to come next. While many of the jokes and scenarios lie around mildly amusing, plenty of visual gags and art style changes stick out as quite funny. The characters are pretty straightforward, but they don't feel hollow or like an embodied archetype and they've got a pretty good dynamic and share of banter on screen. If you're a fan of gag anime or you just want to watch something that might as well be a ...

Lighthearted, silly, and kinda nice.

This isn't a masterwork or anything, but it isn't bad either. If you can get through the first handful of chapters where Nagatoro is genuinely awful to Naoto, it's fairly entertaining as the characters begin to develop and a plot starts forming. The development of the relationship between the two main characters feels fairly natural if you look past the randomized roadblocks (although those are necessary for a romance manga to even exist), and those two are decently fleshed out. Many of the side characters are fairly one-dimensional, but that's at least sort of standard for comedic manga. There are good ...

Dungeon Meshi (Anime) add
This show sure is some good eating.

I consider this series intensely creative. All the different dishes the characters make and the takes on how particular traditional Western fantasy monsters work feel really well thought out. One of the best tips for good worldbuilding in settings for things like D&D is to explore how they get their food. You can expand this out to locking in ecology and material conditions, and that narrow scope worldbuilding is what Delicious In Dungeon specializes in. This has the side effect of having tons of things to bounce the characters off of that build their characterization. Each important character ...

Cheesy, wholesome, and generally enjoyable. There are some weak points such as a large amount of plot progression revolving around Akko making new short-sighted and poorly thought out decisions very frequently, and a couple jokes not really landing or relying on secondhand embarrassment, but if you make the choice to buy in to the premise and the characters, this series will definitely give you some emotions. The climactic moments and new achievements don't always feel thoroughly earned by Akko, but at the end of the day it's still aimed at kids and still has some very strong scenes of you don't mind feeling a little ...
