I was initially introduced to this show when through a comment on a show saying "Man.. Ace of Diamond makes my Saturdays better." Having no expectations for this show, I decided to watch it because I had not else better to watch. I mean, let’s be real… With Basketball, and Volleyball, and Soccer, and other sports, Baseball is obviously not the most exciting sport to watch. But man, was I wrong. The first click to episode 1 landed me to episode 13. Marathoning all the airing episodes, I was so excited and couldn't focus on any other anime or school work, or sleep or anything at
...
all.
The art, story, sound and character are elements that help make this anime shine;but the one element that distinguish this anime from a diamond and a mere crystal are the characters. At first impression, Eijun Sawamura may only appear to be a a silly boy with a talent for baseball; however, that is not all this anime presents. Sawamura is carefree but not lazy, rowdy but still serious, simple but not brainless. Even though this is a show that is shown on a screen, each and every one of the character traits are delivered appropriately. As if the characters were flesh and blood, you could see their disappointment, cheer them on their success and laugh with them on their mistakes.Sure, you can watch an anime and know which character is an idiot or an intellect, talented or not, but, very rarely, would there be an instant where you could watch an anime and actually know about the characters as if they were your best friend. All the characters such as Sawamura, Furuya, Ryousuke, Yuki and his teammates and their rivals are created and developed splendidly. To be honest, this was one of the few anime where I remember most of the names of the characters. I mean I don't even remember what I wore yesterday or what my breakfast was, so imagine how I managed to remember 50 characters in a show..
While the story may seem to follow the typical sports anime route, the most important aspect about the story is the message it delivers:"Not everyone is good at first." "Practice makes permanent." The best feature of this anime is that it motivates individuals to strive to improve and practice. Whether it be baseball, soccer, studying, piano, it is not talent that is the deciding factor, but ultimately, it is effort that counts.
Along with the character and beautiful art, the soundtrack is gear that pumps motivation and excitement in the anime. I been waiting for 50 episodes for the soundtrack to get released and now it's finally out!! Not to sound crazy or anything, but I listen to the soundtrack to get inspired and find motivation to study and it works!
Honestly, I found this anime by surprise, and I can say I'm never so glad I didn't overlook it. This anime is a long adventure, but I can ensure you, it's not a boring one. Throwing in interesting characters, humor, art and amazing soundtracks, the producers have churned out an amazing sport anime. Whether you want to kill time, ease away your sadness, or look for motivation. This is the right sport anime for you.

Has an anime ever give you strange dreams at night? Well, this was the case for me, and by strange I do not mean ghosts or anything of that sort; the dreams are just strange...
Story - 9
This anime is situated 1000 years from now, and the protagonists as well as many other characters you encounter are telekinesis (PK) users(since there is an actual summary I won't bother about summarizing the story too much). To me the story is quite original. Although there are many takes on animes that about societies and government, I believe this anime has one of the best concept and story line. The
...
art, suspense, mystery, and darkness are masterfully woven to keep you on the edge of your seat. The themes and story of this anime is dark and depressing. There were a few episodes in the middle that have made me lose partial interest, but that interest is gained back almost instantly with the following episodes. Most of the time while watching this, you would find yourself confused and lost, however, as you start watching more you begin to gain understanding on it. I would describe this as when you watch an episode you are confused, then as you watch another, you think you have found the pieces in the puzzle until the anime throws in yet another mystery. This process continues to repeat until you finish the anime. Yes, what a troll (:
Art + Sound- 9
I absolutely love the animation and art of this anime. It fits the theme and story well . There is just something unique about it. As you get to certain episodes you might find the art/animation to be different, the reason is because some episodes were made with another director. The sound was perfect for this anime, the music was deep and invoke thoughts as well as emotions. Even though I finished it, I can hear the song playing in my head, haha.
Overall-9
Despite the usual cliche line telling that this story is "about a group of friends", I must tell you now it is much more than that, It is certainly not some children anime that you might imagine it to be. Shinsekai yori is an incredibly powerful anime, and honestly if you decide not to watch this anime, you are missing out! While this anime might be on the dark and depressing side, it is something entertaining and interesting to watch. I found this show while searching for something to watch and to be honest, it would not be exaggerating to say I found a gem. A friend told me that he started watching at 9 pm and by 6 am,he was still watching. It is one of those compelling animes that will keep you pressing the next button again and again. To those who like bright and funny anime, this might not be the anime for you. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this anime, you never know until you try!!

Caution-you better be looking around in your local McDonalds, there are chances a demon lord could be working there!?! Hataraku Maou-sama is one of those animes that will throw you in for a spectacular ride with a twist!
Story- 8
Besides the world-traveling part of the story, I believe most of the story was quite original. I mean where else can you find an Overlord working in McDonalds? Despite others saying the pacing was slow, I thought it was appropriate- not too slow or too fast. As for the comedy, romance, and fantasy aspect, Hataraku uses absurd and cliche ideas and incorporates it into an outrageous
...
yet sensational anime that is outright hilarious.
Art-9
I gave the art a high score because I believe it is well done and fairly attractive. I especially like how the eyes were drawn.I think it serves as an additional factor of this anime's brilliance.
Sound-7
There wasn't anything special about the soundtracks so I'll give it a 7. The OP and ED was okay.
Character-8
The characters weren't the most original, however, they were quite likable and contributed a fairly large amount to the comedy of this anime.
Overall-9
To wrap this up, I think Hataraku Maou-sama is a great anime. I only picked it up today after seeing some reviews on it and the description drew me in. I found myself hooked at the first episode so I hope the same would be for you.I finished this anime today, and for some reason I just had to come here and write a review! Pick this anime up if you want something light-hearted and entertaining to watch. It'll definitely brighten your mood and bring you some laughter!!

I'm a big sucker for sports animes that gets you all pumped up and excited, Prince of Tennis is one of those. It actually inspired me to play Tennis. Now onto the actual review.
Story- 8
The story was not the most original, however it has its own unique quality. Basically, the protagonist, Ryoma Echizen is a 12 year old tennis player who travels back to Japan from America to surpass his father and develop himself to become a better tennis player. The story follows the challenges he faces and the people he encounters. The story has its ups and down and there are a few surprises, so
...
in all I think it's a great story. There are times where the story seems to drag or some repetitions in the matches-like my friend once told me : I got bored past 100 episodes because they were basically repeating the same thing with the different characters. I don't know if that might be the case for you, but it wasn't for me, I found it to be interesting nevertheless. Also, some parts of this anime seems to defy logic and physics, haha. It's like watching superman tennis or something ^_^
Art-7 + Sound-8
The art was bothering me at first, but I guess it's pretty decent for a 2005 anime. I totally love the soundtracks, some of them really bring the necessary emotions in the scene.
Characters- 9
As for the characters, I think they are extremely well-done. I grew an attachment to most of the characters in the anime. They have unique personalities, and each and every one of them felt really realistic.Though, I must say the girls' personalities are pretty typical. I found myself tearing when it was ending because I didn't want to part with the characters. (Yes, even Horio-kun LOL) They were so wonderfully made and developed. Additionally,it was the first anime where I didn't have any characters that I hated.
Overall, I give this anime an 8. It was fairly enjoyable and a perfect anime to watch. I highly encourage you to watch it if you want to kill time and enjoy some laughs as well as emerge yourself in some sports anime.

A music-themed shoujo manga, sprinkled with bits of romance, and friendship.
Mashikaku Rock is a short manga with a semi-unique plot. Basically, it starts off with Miyako, who is a diligent girl that always follows the school rules, the perfect model student. That is, until she meets Koutaru who invites her to his band. This story has many sweet, fluffy moments and teaches you to pursue the things you want in life. The plot is not too original, but it has its strong points.
To sum it all up, it is a nice read for all those shoujo-lovers looking for a refreshing manga. I really like
...
how it wasn't the type of manga where the heroine is automatically considered pretty by taking off her glasses or shortening her skirt, breaking the school rules, etc. She wasvery cute with or without the glasses.
Additionally, the two short stores had an amazing plots. My the guy asked in favorite line was one of the question the guy in the first oneshot asked :"Can you fall in love with someone that you don't know their name?"
The second one was abou cute t childhood friendship and love. They really messed with my feelings ;A; Read it, you won't regret it!
