This anime receives an unjust amount of criticism, while the appreciation it does receive is often in the "so bad, it's good" category. However, I firmly believe that this anime is truly a masterpiece.
OP and ED:
The opening and ending themes of the show are exceptional and deserve praise. Unlike many anime, I never felt the need to skip them. With a perfect duration of just one minute, both the ED and OP hit the sweet spot. They succinctly deliver their message without overstaying their welcome. The songs are incredibly catchy, and the visuals perfectly capture the show's tone. The opening gets me excited for the

upcoming episode, while the ending wraps things up on a positive note, leaving me in a good mood after each episode.
Animation and Visuals:
Nobody can deny it in good faith; the ecchi in this show is seriously creative and fun. The way they utilize the angles from a dog's perspective is nothing short of divine. Moreover, the extensive use of first-person POV effectively immerses viewers into Pochita's experiences. The animation and art in the series are truly top-notch, and all three waifus are superbly designed.
Narrative:
With snappy, action-packed, half-length episodes, this show keeps you hooked from start to finish. The mystery surrounding Pochita's situation will leave you finding yourself just as curious as Pochita about his circumstances. The masterful adaptation of classic ecchi comedy tropes to fit this distinctive take on the genre really pays off with endless hilarity.
Characters:
The star of the show, Pochita, is a first class harem protagonist. Instead of taking the easy route of making him a pervert, the show presents him as a gentleman. He is forced make the choices he does by his circumstances. His gradual acceptance of his role as Inukai's loyal and faithful dog is fantastic character development. Whenever Pochita fufills his role as mankind’s servant and helps people, it fills me with a sense of pride for his character.
Inukai's growth from a cold and distant individual, following the loss of her previous dog, to finding newfound joy in life thanks to Pochita, is genuinely heartwarming. Her role as the doting owner of Pochita is a master-servant dynamic executed in the most pleasant way.
Nekotani's portrayal as a tsundere in this show is fantastic, and she fits in seamlessly. Her fear of dogs adds a straightforward yet impactful dimension to her character, contributing to the plot's development in a meaningful way.
Tsukishiro serves as an excellent rival to Inukai for Pochita's affection. Her love for him when he was human and Inukai's love for him as a dog create a spicy love triangle that adds plenty of heat to the story.
Conclusion:
I highly recommend giving this show a chance or even rewatching it with an open mind. I sincerely hope you'll be able to experience the same beautiful emotions that I did while watching it. It's definitely worth a try!
