The problem with Brave is that the franchise really peaked there and never reached that level again (though Sword Eyes was at least a nice attempt).
Jewelpet was neat. I thought at first that they were all related but between seasons the tone, the artstyle and even the character personalities completely change. All the Sanrio anime I’ve watched I liked a lot. Fairilu was excellent albeit slow in the beginning (ignoring the Mahou no Pendulum season which was a complete reboot lacking any of what made the first two interesting) and Onegai My Melody surprised me a lot. Mainly for the first two seasons (the third is just shorts and the fourth is a prequel lacking the human characters- both are okay but nothing outstanding). Mewkledreamy is practically a remake of My Melody, the plot and characters are so similar. That one’s harder to recommend though when the second season is drowned in recap episodes. I think the fansubbers skipped them it got so ridiculous.
I adored Gyrozetter! I am a big mecha fan, but I can’t bother if the character writing doesn’t also stand out, which it certainly does in this case.
Pikaia is one I can’t recommend enough. It’s really different because it’s not advertising a toy or game in any way. It’s an educational anime about biology, particularly Cambrian era life. The plot was well thought out and definitely did surprise me at times.
Was going to say the first three entries in the Battle Spirits franchise, although I see you’ve already watched those, but they were absolutely phenomenal and it’s still really underrated as far as card game anime go.
Dragon Collection was a really neat one. It’s a pretty wacky series. It’s based off of some sort of arcade card game but with a more Pokemon-like battle system, but had a surprisingly good plot and strong ending.
Time Bokan 24. It is formulaic, but goes all over the place so each episode does feel unique. I feel like it got even more creative in the second season, which switches the POV from the kid heroes to the adult villain trio.
Legendz is absolutely insane, to the point I was uncertain at first if it was actually a kids toy commercial or a parody of the genre. It’s a show that’s hard to talk about without spoiling why it’s so good, but it’s definitely got an ending that stuck with me for a long time.
Drive Head I’ll throw in although I completely understand some of the criticism this show gets (it has a dismally low budget and pacing problems) but it’s also super unique as far as mecha anime go, given it’s a rescue robot anime rather than a battle-centric one (there are some battles, though). It’s a certain antagonist and mascot character pair that the show does some really unexpected things with that made me hugely invested in those two in particular.
