Key differences: -NGNL has more ecchi and comedy while SAO is heavier on action and has a more prominent romance aspect than NGNL does. -SAO is not a typical isekai unlike NGNL but rather has a virtual-reality setting.

Both were animated by the same studio Madhouse though NGNL’s animation is 100% better, and have intelligent protagonists who use strategy at times or try using their abilities from their brilliant minds. Neither of them are action-laden either, but still feature fascinating moments and there’s pretty good openings with DN having a bit of intensity in its op while NGNL has a certain piano feel. The difference is that Death Note is a psychologically-mystery and thriller anime without the level of comedy and fanservice found in No Game No Life at all nor does it involve taking place in an isekai set-up. They are both must-watches from particular anime genres, with DN being an undeniable watch to a suspense show and NGNL worth checking out no matter the case, for an isekai anime.

OPM parodies other shounen anime including DBZ in particular through some of its character designs like a blue monster and Boros. They both have lots of comedy, superpowers, and awesome villains. For example, Boros and Frieza are both aliens who are remarked as lords of the galaxy. In addition, both of them have fought the protagonist and that both of these fights were one of the most epic-battles in anime history making this a comparable aspect within both series. Both also incorporate elements of science-fiction such as advanced-technology, scientists, aliens, and robots although not as heavily as some other sci-fi anime. This comparison is from my observation of both series.

Let’s compare these two popular superhero anime and start with the similarities: - The main protagonist possesses superhuman punching abilities while his sidekick has explosive powers. - Both feature hero organizations, such as the Hero Association from OPM and students from UA High in MHA. - They both have heroes who are deserving of respect for their justice, Mumen Rider and All Might. - They are among the best series that started airing in the mid-2010s. - The battle music of both series tends to have a similar appreciation for me. For example, "Saitama’s Theme" kind of gives off "You Say Run" vibes. - Awesome battles, and their animation are enough to be considered as "god-tier”. Differences: - One Punch Man is considered a seinen that parodies shounen and has satire, though both series do have comedy moments. - The protagonist in OPM is already overpowered whereas MHA focuses more on character development. If you’re looking for plenty of battles, superheroes, and superpowers, then both of these series are must-watches.
