Inazuma Eleven
add

Princess Nine is a female version of Inazuma Eleven) see: - at the beginning, a sports team can't play because they don't have enough players - they recruit different people to their team, each with a unique personality - protagonists are similar. Endou Mamoru is a goalkeeper, Hayakawa Ryo is a pitcher, - they have their own special techniques + their relative used to be a sports star but died - both teams become stronger and stronger despite of all the hardships - both have a bit of FANTASTICS! [but i don't want to give spoilers about that] and trust me both are goood)

Both Yuugi and Niwa have another soul in their body, and have a friend with the same thing. The main girls are similar in their characters and even look the same: Risa = Miho (moments with Risa and Niwa are very similar to moments with Honda and Miho), and Riku = Anzu.

Cardfight!! Vanguard
add

There are some more similar things about AL and C!!V, besides they are both about proxy battling. 1) you have a unit that represents your self (in C!!V it's a main card -- Vanguard), not just fights on your side 2) u need to use your imagination and vizualize! (but i wonder why you can't just fight :P) 3) we have a rookie as a protagonist who improves very briefly 4) short introduction and very soon the tournament: local, regional and then nationals.

Gosick
add

It starts like a mystery-solving episodic story based on deduction where everything ends OK, but as far as the show goes on some mysterious power appear little by little, maybe some secret organization or a person that chases our characters, and is somehow connected with some of the characters' past. Gosick isn't even half-aired yet, though we saw some glimpses of the evil guy, and he seems to be similar to TanteiGakuenQ's

let me recommend some non-sports anime the main common thing about this two animes is female point of view, understanding girl's thoughts and psychology, love stories and cool dramatic final the main charaters are both strong tomboyish girls into some fights that are done for men so if you are a girl and liked Utena for psychology, you'll like Princess Nine, and vice-versa

We can see a rivalty between two talented boys: one is intelligent, well-mannered and has brilliant skills 'cause he trained himself since he was an infant; and another is quick-tempered, wilful and not willing to play or participate in competitions for the first time. Really, Hikaru is very like Kai ! But Akira is more proud than Amamiya is.
