Both star over powered male leads surrounded by a harem of cute girls (and a sibling) voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. Both shows also showcase shameless fanservice, though NGNL is the bigger offender of the two. So, if you're a sad male otaku thirsting for some self-insert wish fulfillment and for some forsaken reason haven't seen either of these, you may do so.

Both sports shows are filled to brimming with endearing, good-looking high school boys, though Free is more slice-of-life, while Kuroko is more high-energy hype. And, of course, magnificent voice acting performances by some of the best seiyuu boys in the industry today.

Both shows involve the last sliver of humanity's hope fighting improbably large enemies that want to eat them. Both protagonists are idealists that don't want to see any of their precious friends killed but see it happen anyways. And both shows offered a similar episode-by-episode cliffhanger-ing style.

Aside from the obvious similarity of the creative staff, both shows have larger-than life enemies and plot, and moments of pure absurdity. The art style is similar as well, and both shows did have little moments of genius scattered within them.

They're both reverse harems set in high school with 6 boys. There's noticeable bits of comedy and drama in both. There are also a lot of ridiculous moments that will make you smile in both shows.

In both shows, our main female protagonist is in a sort of reverse harem, but without any explicit romance. Tohru and Haruhi are very perceptive characters, who sort of solve the problems and change the hearts of those they meet. Also, both shows are slice-of-life shojo, with plenty of comedy. I also found these two to be similar in that some episodes I re-watched several times, while others were painful to watch just the first time around.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

Both are high school slice-of-life comedies with an idiot main character. These both involve love triangles, and rely on somewhat recycled jokes or gags. I also noticed that in the second half of both shows, there was more drama added. Both anime have a large cast, with plenty of quirky characters. However, Baka and Test seems to have more perverse humor than School rumble. Personally, I did get some laughs from both shows, but they just weren't exactly my cup of tea.

Red-head sword-wielding tsundere girl, cool guy who's very skilled and eventually rushes on the female character, a cute character, demons, spirit contracts, other supernatural powers, even a similar art style! Also both are based off light novels.
