This series was an interesting experience. While the plot was nothing special, it's interesting to see a world in which both the protagonist and the people they're fighting are morally corrupt.
What I enjoyed most was the food for thought. It was fun to contemplate how violence affects people, and who is deserving of what and who is innocent. However, the series only presented these themes, and did not explore it properly. Perhaps this could have been achieved had the protagonist actually face problems, and not simply just solve every problem presented. Likewise, their character arc was... weak.

Can you believe this "anime" had abhorrent animation AND a Gainax ending?
The story is okay, I suppose. It's interesting enough that I'm tempted to check out the manga. However, this experience has taught me how important basic animation is for executing a show. Everything about it was either too out of whack to interpret properly or it was so abominable you just burst out laughing. There were too likeable things about this show: the voice acting was good, and I would unironically jam to the soundtrack while doing homework or something. Also, the girls would have been likeable HAD THE ANIMATORS SHOWN THEM A GRAIN ... |
