"Kotonoha No Niwa" was a fascinating film in my opinion. I didn't realize how short it was until it was almost over.
The art and the music were all perfect, as expected from any film directed by Makoto Shinkai. However, I wish the film's length could be extended to tell a more rounded story with more dynamic and evolving characters. It definitely has a similar overall feel as "5cm Per Second", especially in terms of the emotions it can spring up, but the lack of complexity can be a hindrance. I guess one should expect a slow and calming story once they start watching any film directed ... |
