'Attack on Titan' (Shingeki no Kyojin) plays with similar themes as 'The Promised Neverland' (Yakusoku no Neverland) and elicits the same mixture of feelings within the reader. Both series focus on three main characters (Eren, Mikasa, Armin) in 'Attack on Titan', (Emma, Ray, Norman) in 'The Promised Neverland'. Both stories are about children living in an unfair world where literal monsters are trying to kill and eat them. The premises are different, but much of the effect is the same: the main characters are comparable to human cattle.
