At first, Youjo Senki may seem just like an average military/war anime, but the fact that the isekai scenario featuring the main character (Tanya) helped develop a very interesting and fun watch. When I started watching it, I almost thought the main character was a joke, with the loli-like body it made me hard to take the show seriously at first. But, later on in the anime Tanya started to have her own persona that most viewers like to see in a show, she was really powerful and made some smart/entertaining decisions that gave the viewer enjoyment. It was impossible to completely determine and predict

what would happen, and I always had many questions (at least for me).
Characters: 9
In my opinion having a whole anime from the perspective of the villain was very fun to watch. I've seen similar aspects to it in animes such as "Code Geass," where Lelouch leads his own group to try and fight for what he believes. This is also similar to the anime "Overlord" to an extent. Although, there are animes that have similar main characters as Youjo Senki, none of the characters have as much personality as Tanya.
When it came to her appearance, shortly I realized her body didn't suggest anything about herself. Having lived in a futuristic world before, she has seen and experienced many other things that other people haven't. This is where she gets her signature massive grin from. To be honest, just seeing a picture of her grinning sums up why her appearance doesn't mean a thing.
Relating to her appearance I thought that she was designed well as a character when it came to art style. The hair that she had gave her another level of superiority, as well as the hat that she generally wore.
When it came to the other characters I thought they paled in comparison to Tanya, most of the characters in her battalion were very typical and didn't really have any unique stand out traits. But, even though they have have been typical I thought they all were interesting, and helped progress the story along. For example Erich von Rerugen, I thought that he strove away from the completely typical side character with power. He was also one of the people who related Tanya to a "monster in a little girls body" (not sure what the quote actually was, but similar to that).
Sound/Music: 10
I thought that the soundtrack was a huge plus and it gave a great feel for the anime. It always hyped me up each time I watched an episode, and because of that I rarely skipped the intro/ending. Adding onto the opening and ending I thought the art was great. There were many really nice graphically designed art pieces that fit great with the opening. Although a bit biased, for the opening I really enjoyed the songs since I am a big fan of Myth and Roid. As for the OSTs I thought they went along great with the show. They were pretty unique and sometimes I didn't even notice when they came on since they adapted and fit in perfectly along with the show.
Overall:
To sum it up, I really found this show entertaining and I ended up enjoying it. If a second season were to come out I would watch for sure. I would recommend this show to people who enjoy isekai anime with an OP main character. Although, in this show Tanya shouldn't be considered too overpowered she still had lots of power compared to normal soldiers.
