Story- The story made perfect sense up until the halfway mark. There was a lot of build up for the different characters and how the plot lines could converge to form something satisfying. Instead it just threw me in a loop and the main antagonist of the show was revealed to be someone completely irrelevant in real life. Not sure if this was the point of the show, but why even bother introducing side characters that gave off shoulda, woulda could've vibes?
Art- stunning. Shots I never seen before, satisfying angles, crisp animation. Character designs were super satisfying. Some scenes highlighted how far anime has gone

People keep comparing this show to AOT and I think it's a bit mistaken to do so. AOT excels in its worldbuilding and thus it feels more like a fantasy adventure which then evolves into a bit of a political thriller, at least the later seasons. This show is a classic shounen. Although the characters were not all original, the art and soundtrack are great. I enjoyed this show a lot. I binged it in about 2 days because it had a lot of compelling scenes. Not a lot of animes get me to binge watch the entire thing in one sitting. Not a lot of shows as a matter of fact. This show reminded me of Bakemonogatari without the drawn out dialogue or the Japanese inside jokes I missed because they were lost in translation. Overall, I really enjoyed the show. The weird incest relationship thing was toned down to a minimum, the dialogue was engaging and every character had a place. There wasn't a single time where I thought I was taken for a ride with no actual development of the plot. It complied with Chekov's Gun basically.

This was a very engaging show. There wasn't much depth to the characters, at least the main ones. The only significant change or development happened with the gang at the pier. It makes up for it though by using the world to convey the story. Aside from world-building, they used a lot of sex and gore to further add depth to the world. I didn't give this a higher score purely because the main character didn't undergo some sort of redeeming arc. It was purely despair and misery from start to end and perhaps that's the point of the story. It just isn't my cup
