This manga is so much more than you think it is. Yes, the premise sounds silly, and it's meant to be. However, the stories of Ai-san (the “Office Lady fujoshi) and Misumi-san (the “god artist high school girl”) are so wonderful and compelling.
Ai-san serves as the primary protagonist that the story follows. She is in her mid-twenties, has a respectable career, and is a total otaku. Ai-san is probably the source of most the laughs throughout with her unhinged –but relatable—otaku rants, but she is also very thoughtful and sincere about the important issues and problems that come her way. This fujoshi may be

a little unpredictable but she is very easy to empathize with, and you’ll find yourself rooting for her before you even know it.
Misumi-san is our other main character, but the audience mainly sees her through Ai-san’s eyes and experiences. Although she’s only sixteen, she has already attracted a large fanbase on social media through her incredible fan art. Misumi-san is a very wholesome girl who on one hand clearly struggles with imposter syndrome regarding her success while clearly being very confident in her ability and her feelings. Without a doubt, Misumi-san is the heart of the story.
“Kami Eshi JK to OL Fujoshi” is about Ai-san’s journey, Misumi-san’s journey, and their journey together. You will laugh out loud, you will audibly “awwww,” and you will be wanting more, regardless of how many chapters there are. Trust me.
