This is, as another reviewer eloquently put it, the "poor man's Azumanga Daioh." However, whereas Azumanga has charming characters and entertaining episodes, Lucky Star is a black hole devoid of any amusement. Lucky Star is a cheap attempt to cash-in on the moe-blob craze that seems to be infecting the anime industry.

Avoid this series.

If you've been wanting a humorous take on violent human disfigurement, this is the manga for you. Starring Fran as the titular character, Franken Fran is an intriguing, often hilarious (and often horrifying) story of her medical adventures with the unfortunate people who come in contact with her.

A fantastic manga, as long as you aren't planning on eating anything while you read.
