I cannot describe in words really how much I love this series. I picked this up late last year after one of my best friends from elementary school had recommended it to me a few years ago and then took a long time to actually start reading through the first couple of books. The way it hooked me however was astounding. If you need a non-terfy "magic school" series to fall in love with, with incredible art, an extremely robust and interesting magic system, and two definitelystraight men taking care of a squabble of middle-school-age witches I can't recommend this book enough.
