I have never kept up with a manga weekly before, I would always fall behind after a couple weeks. When I found Kubo I was hooked and caught up within the first day. It was such a delight to add to my weekly Wednesday routine and I looked forward to it every week, showing up to school telling my friends about it every time. When I realized I had just read the last chapter we would get, I was genuinely in tears.
This is an incredibly heartfelt and happy manga. The story does not matter because its all about the characters. At the start when its

just the two main characters, it does not feel boring. Enough happens between the two to keep you hooked, and their character dynamics are just perfect together. Once their friends get introduced it does not ruin the flow of the overall story, it more of a welcomed treat. This whole manga is about their quirky personalities and how they use that to have fun.
I would not have been able to tell you that I could tell it was coming to an end the last couple chapters, so the ending seemed a little abrupt. With no extra long chapter or anything like that. With that said, it was not a bad ending. It has me grinning from ear to ear. It perfectly wrapped up everything about the manga and everything that made it good into a nice ribbon.
Because this manga genuinely made me a happy when I read it and I was always smiling from ear to ear, I will consider it one of my favorite reads of all time, and I will come back to it every once in a while. I do not think I could recommend it more for a depressed teenage boy to binge read at 2 am, I wish it was there for me when I needed it.
