This anime has been a special one to me as when I first found out about it, I despised it for no reason. I had seen the openings on YouTube and was very confused as to where it came from and what made it so popular. This was before I knew anything about the story and characters.
I gave in and watched the openings and thoroughly enjoyed them and had my eye on a few characters that interested me. Keep in mind, I still hated the series. I gave in even more and tried to learn about the characters that caught my eye and were very

interested in them. This led to me learning about a lot of the characters and learning a huge load of spoilers along the way. But I still held some dislike for the series. I watched many clips and would sometimes look at some of the recent manga chapters at the time (around the Word Devil's reveal) and gave in and started to watch it so I could get to the episodes where a character I was very interested in would debut (this was Mereoleona btw). Again, still didn't like the series.
As I am very incapable of watching a 12 episodes anime in a 6 month time period, I heavily doubted I was going to get far in this show. I had one stop around episode 10 for 2-3 months but came back to the show, still not liking it. As soon as I hit episode 21, it was getting very enjoyable and I watched it very often, slowly but surely getting closer to episode 70. Knowing most of the spoilers didn't ruin any enjoyment but did make some situations a bit downplayed but I enjoyed them nonetheless. Around episode 50, my view on the series did a complete 180 and I couldn't stop watching it, even during a time which I had exams, I wanted to watch it but held back.
The animation and Asta's yelling didn't make me hate the series. I got used to it very quickly and they grew on me quite fast. Knowing some of the most major spoilers hyped a lot of the scenes for me and once I caught up with the anime (Episode 99), I went straight to reading the manga and caught up to that as well. The entire series has now taken over most of my life and I don't know what I would do without it. It keeps me entertained and is very easy to rewatch scenes constantly and never get sick of them.
The characters are very enjoyable, even if some are assholes, you warm up to them a bit at some point in the series (unless it's the King, he can burn alive). The story is amazing, with the first arc being over 100 episodes long with a lot of other arcs among it. Information that doesn't seem important can prove to be something that comes up again and has relevance to the current arc so make sure to pick up as much info you are given as one death that seems insignificant can be important to the reveal of a major villain.
To all who are sceptical about the series, give it a go. If you get to episode 30 and don't like it, try the manga if you are willing to give the series another chance, the manga is a lot better but the anime also has its pros. Like having 11 banger openings and not one of them being bad ;)
