In a way, this story is like Death Note. The protagonist kills a lot of bad people with the help of a demon. Difference is, this manga has a lot of gore, torture and rape, just like the real world. If you want a happily ever after, go watch some Disney.
Story: I like the story because it's so straight forward. "I want revenge." It's simple, it's been done before, and yet it's really darn entertaining. The protagonist's backstory is surprisingly average and common. It's something that happens on a daily basis, but that itself is a great thing, because it makes the protagonist appear
...
more human and relatable. It's a great duo where the demon lady is not stealing the focus too much, while the protagonist also isn't too over developed. And even though a demon side-kick is nothing new, the author made it feel pretty fresh. The biggest flaws are how the police are practically non-existent in the story, and that there is a level-up system... "Congrats, you killed enough people to choose a skill!"
The thing is. This manga has a lot of gore. Seeing people get their heads chopped of might make the readers feel bad. (lol) In the end, the question is, do you like manga with excessive brutality? I love Gantz. This manga is nothing special, but if you can't find the enjoyment of seeing drawings of people killing other drawings of people, this manga, this story, will be very hard for you to enjoy.
Art: Let's be honest here. I bought vol.1 because the cover has a sexy lady on it. So obviously this manga has great female characters that look hot. The problem is the other stuff. The gore looks very nicely drawn, the gross bad guys looks like they deserve to die based on appearance alone... So, yeah the art is good, great. But for a manga with so much violence it feels a bit strange that the art is good, when we get to see such brutality. More "Succubus" and less "Hitman" would not hurt.
Characters: The protagonist is not a psycho, he's simply after revenge. The Succubus is not a monster, she's simply a being that need souls to survive. The main characters are all flawed, and anti-hero stereotypes. But I like them, the creator has made these characters in a really nice way that makes it easy to understand why they do the things they do. Watching Naruto, I always screamed "what the fudge are you doing you useless blond turd!", but this manga makes is easy to simply go along with the story. I, at least, enjoy the duo in this manga.
Overall: This manga is good as long as you can enjoy the blood. Heads, arms, legs, everything that can be chopped of, will get chopped of. Sexy ladies will be violated, and men will be tortured. It's gross, it's sick, but it's also a kind of entertainment that some people find appealing. The main plot is very enjoyable, "find the ones that killed my family, and make them suffer".
In the end, I believe that if you like Gantz, you will like this. Because the fact is, people will die in horrifying ways, but eventually, the good guys win. Claymore, Deadman Wonderland, Ubel Blatt, plenty of manga have gore, torture or rape. This manga is not different, it's simply a bit newer than the others.

This manga used cats as bait, and I got caught. I got dragged into a dark room, and a group of men with cat ears showed up. That's my impression of this story.
Story: Cats are indeed the perfect pet. They sleep a lot, they are independent, and they poop in a sandbox. I bought the book expecting actual cats in the story. But instead we get sexy men that can transform into cats. The fluffy little angel in one panel, can transform into an adult human in the next panel... The story in general is pretty darn boring. We have the sadistic humor that the
...
protagonist is forced against his will to work for very little money. Combined with a highschool sub-plot and melodramatic encounters. This story is in every single way 'barely average'. The only thing that made this manga stand out, and trick me into spending my money, was the promise of cats. And yet there's not one single cat in the manga.
Art: Yes, the "cats" are cute and fluffy, absolutely amazing cat drawings, a perfect 10. But when the art is showing them as humans, it's very boring and mediocre. Cat ears and tails on grown men. Overall a very standardized line up of characters. Immature cutie, sadist glasses, flashy player, they are all here.
Overall: I ordered a cute manga with plenty of cats. But I was served a group of men with cat ears, and a bad mix of personality on the top. DO NOT buy this for the cats. If you want BL bait with sexy men, stories of men growing to trust each other and making new sexy male friends along the way. Then you should buy this. This story is similar to 'Free' and 'Yuri on Ice', male friendship is the whole point, you might get some kind of plot, but the men and all their drama is the whole point. Know this, and then decide if the cat drawings are worth it.
This manga feels like an otome version of Nekopara. Good or bad, that's for the readers to decide.

THE TRUCK STRIKES AGAIN!!! A man sees a cat on the road, he save the cat from getting hit by a truck. The cat lives, the man dies, the truck continues trucking.
Story: Anyway, a protagonist having the job of Blacksmith is not that rare, but in this story we get detailed descriptions of the crafting process that is usually just skipped. But it's surprisingly boring to read about how the hammer is used, or how the fire is managed... Reading about it is boring. Seeing it in real life, now that would be interesting.
The world is very well made. The animals have great
...
descriptions, the town rules and overall society is interesting and not too exaggerated. Human supremacy, slavery and corrupt nobles etc, it's not as dramatized as some stories, like the Shield Hero for example.
The biggest problem is the authors writing style. It's his first published novel, and it shows. The first chapters uses to many synonyms for "said", and also tries too hard to clarify who said what. He said. She responded. He asked. She answered. He stated. She added. We don't need clarifications after every spoken line to know who said what. Especially when there's only two people in the conversation. Luckily, after that first few chapters the author decreased the amount of dialogue attribution to make the conversations have a better flow. The author can also force certain plot events to move fast in unrealistic ways.
"I want a merchant to sell my stuff for me."
Five Seconds Later: "Hey you, I'm opening a store, and I want to sell your stuff there." Lucky!
Characters: A girl wants to live with the protagonist. A second girl literally begs to live with the protagonist. A third girl shows up at the protagonists house. A fourth girl, fifth girl, sixth girls etc. The Isekai Problem. You need to introduce every type of girl that this fantasy world has to offer. Not to sound gay, but a male companion wouldn't be that bad. Kakashi-sensei (naruto) was so popular, it's surprising we rarely see similar roles in isekai stories. So, ignoring the morally questionable girls, the personalities are also pretty strange. The inner monologues of the protagonist are inconsistent. And the speech pattern of the characters are very irregular.
Overall: Like many other isekai, the characters are the biggest flaw. Carry home a passed out girl, take off her clothes and touch her body, and she will love you for it, according to this story. It's worse than Snow-White being forcefully kissed while sleeping... We have a dwarf girl, which means she's tiny. We have a tiger-girl with big boobs, though she's just 5years old. The protagonist might be a 40year old man, but he sure as hell don't want a 40year old woman living with him. Personally, I love older women like Tsunade (naruto) a lot more than legally questionable girls.
Long story short. If you like isekai (I do), this story is perfectly average, bad characters but a interesting world. However, if you have a general dislike for isekai. Run. Run fast, run far.

"Is that your thing? Taking a deep breath the second you enter a woman's home?"
The main woman in this series is strong, both physically and mentally. She has an attitude that many men would think is too tough. But, much like Tsunade in Naruto, she's sexy enough to make it work.
Story: A pretty typical story, it's isekai. But the writing is really good. The author is creating a serious and fairly dark world, but at the same time he adds some humor to make sure it's not too dark (Goblin Slayer), while also not being too fun and happy (Konsosuba), this story is trying to
...
have a more realistic side. Shit happens, but you can still have a good life.
This author is writing in a way that if you have never played a survival game before, it's probably a bit hard to understand. He is diving deep into the whole "survival game" genre rather than just fantasy. The point is that if you don't know survival game terminology, this might be a bit hard to enjoy. For me, I keep thinking of Conan Exiles, some people might think of Minecraft or Rust.
And even though it is about the standard "Japanese man arrives to save a people being unfairly attacked" kind of plot, it still feels fresh. The relationship between two main characters, along with the overall world building makes for an interesting read. Even if you are goddamn tired of isekai, some of these are actually good. It's rare, hard to believe, borderline insane, but it happens. If you like the authors style of writing, it's a nice entertaining story. "I quietly looked toward the lizard-wolf. Our eyes met. Unfortunately, we didn't fall in love."
Art: The art is pretty generic. The character designs are good and definitely make the characters look original. But the color art have very boring tones, it's not detailed enough to make the covers stand out. The black'n white looks nice, but the contrast is too dark. Sexy girl, pretty boy, good enough.
Characters: This author creates characters that I always like. So I might be biased here. Anyway, *cough* The male protagonist is a bit different, he has a very sarcastic mentality that makes this story less about being strong and badass, but more about being the only calm person around. The unimportant characters are usually pretty enjoyable and there's never any really annoying a-holes. The protagonist himself has a thought process that I can relate to as a reader, he's a good dude that is never too unstable. Even when he might be lynched he remains cool as a snowman. The woman is love-able if you like strong women.
Overall: Let's be honest. Many isekai are garbage. And this one probably isn't that great. But I like the author's style. I like the characters attitudes. I like the world written on these pages. Masterpiece? No. But people love McDonalds even though their hamburgers are not exactly the best. And people love isekai even though the story is not always the best. Why? We just like the quick and easy things that you can find without really looking. It's just the way it is. So. Isekai fan? Give this story a try. If you don't like this delicious McDonalds-quality garbage you can go read Harry Popper instead.
Now then, the question you all want to ask. Any sex? Yes. There is sex in the book. Praise the Lord.

In almost every same-sex romance manga there's always more than one gay couple. Gay co-workers, classmates, or even siblings. The gay characters are surrounded by other gay people. "You gay? Me too!!"
Story: Unfortunately a very generic beginning. A small cute girl falls in love with the star of the basketball team and decides to become a manager. Frankly this is the laziest way to write romance... There's no passion, no surprises, no originality. The dating and slice-of-life is also very generic. Rain leads to a fever, which means a home visit and rice-porridge. This manga is full of the things you always see in manga.
...
The story has practically nothing that is making it stand out, except for the fact that it's about two girls. I guess that the only good thing about the plot is that you know exactly what you will get. No freaky plot-twists like "omg, we are siblings!?", just a boring but predictable story that will take you to the exact ending you've seen before.
Art: I guess the selling point of this manga is the art. The art is good and eye catching. It has cute chibi art, adorable facial expressions and a great cover image. No fan-service at all, so the cuteness is the focal point. Unfortunately, they don't use the flowery screentones to match the cuteness. But yeah, I bought this manga because of the art, I enjoyed it because of the art. But in the end, that's not enough.
Overall. This manga played it safe. The first meeting, the events happening in the middle and eventually the ending. It's all about scenarios that have been done before and proven to work. Nothing new or interesting. There's no excitement. It's just about following the train-tracks that so many other romance manga have traveled before. Boys Love / Girls Love manga is so common these days that it's impossible to find the truly good ones. And while this one was at least worth price I payed, it's not a story worth recommending...

"The Demon Lord was totally my type.... So I wooed her, and we eloped!"-Hero
Story: It's isekai, but it's actually pretty ORIGINAL!!! A forbidden love that created a child between a Hero (father) and a Demon Lord (mother). The protagonist might not be the best, but these parents are seriously amazing. This is truly a isekai worth reading. And if anything, this deserves an anime more than most of the shitty isekai that is animated... Even after the intro, the world building is solid, and the plot in general is generic but still very likable. Truly a good isekai, especially if you like the parody
...
genre.
"Don't belittle your mother's breast when you used to suckle them yourself." - Dad to the protagonist
This story is borderline hentai. Be prepared.
Art: You might've guess from the cover, but this manga is packed full of fan-service. But I have to say, for the first time in a long time, I actually like the ecchi art. The female characters are beautiful like crazy. So, if you want 2D boobies, this is the manga you are looking for. Not only that, the character designs are just good. Not only the girls, but the old grandpa and the father also looks really good. And there's just a refreshing feeling to this art style, the artist deserve a gold star for his skill.
Overall: This story is funny, the girls are pretty, and the plot is interesting. But, a lot of the story is about the Protagonist's parents. Saving the world, forbidden love, sacred swords and all that. It's the parents that did all that. The protagonist is just the child of a hero / demon lord.
And now I will end here with a few wise words from the father, a truly wise man.
"Great boobs come to those who admire them. It's a universal truth."

"Dear Readers, it's only natural that you would be astonished." This story has a narrator, it breaks the forth wall to give us commentaries about everything. During fight scenes, be prepared for the lengthy fighting-technique explanations.
Story: High-schooler is hit by a Truckus Giganticus and goes to another world. The Demon Lord there, Deus, has unfortunately gotten diabetes due to his unbalanced diet, oh how sad for this demo- SHUT UP!! I WANT PUDDING!!!
..... Yeah, this is clearly a parody, and the problem is that they are mashing together too many genres. We even have Rap-battles that eventually turns into the "Ultimate Rock Band Tournament, in
...
Nadisom Square Garden". Honestly, I have no words. I was so confused while reading this story, that I simply didn't remember anything after the horrifying rap-battles that is so cringe I wanted to smash my face against the table...
Art: Ugh, the art is unfortunately pretty good. The girls are totally adorable, the armors look cool etc. So, when we get a gory illustration showing a sword piercing the head of a adorable girl, it's just hard to appreciate the art... PS: no spoiler
Characters: The protagonist is boring. He stops at red lights, he asks if the bad guys are actually bad. He thinks he can rap... This character is so flawed, and there's nothing likable about him. But since the story is so ridiculous, maybe that's the point. Because he is the perfect protagonist for this godawful tale.
Worst of all is that the protagonist along with the Narrator are just so loud that almost every sentence ends with exclamation points.
Overall. Who could've expected that a isekai novel could be this bad? Oh, the Humanity! But yea, it's the music sub-plot that ruins the story. We have this protagonist with Saitama-level of strength (one-punch man), and he wants to rap songs with isekai lyrics... No matter how entertaining the Demon Lord with diabetes is. No matter how beautiful the girls are, this story is far to indecisive. It could've been a average and acceptable isekai, instead it turns into one of those parodies that failed to be funny.
In the end, it's pretty simple. As Martial Arts, it fails. As Isekai, it fails. As Comedy, it fails. The only thing I believe is at least average, is the art.
And truly, do not underestimate how many exclamation points there is in this novel. It might not feel like a big deal, but if you start reading this, you will know my pain.
"THE!!!!!! END!!!!!!"

"Are you sure you're not a Japanese person who simply thinks they are a vampire? Please see a medical professional for delusions of grandeur."
Story: The general idea isn't new, but still entertaining. Long forgotten vampires suddenly rise up and creates a nation of their own in the borders on Japan. Seen this kind 3-4 times before, but still entertaining. However, the problem is that the story ignores almost every thing we need to classify something as a vampire. The author removes almost every unique thing a vampire heroine could be, and instead turns this into a typical high-school story. So let's forget the overly simplified
...
"vampire" part. This is a romance / harem story. We have a twin-tailed tsundere that is physically abusive, a protagonist that's too nice to leave her alone. And as the reader, I just keep thinking about every single harem story I've ever seen/read before. Nothing has changed, this story tried to use vampire romance as bait, but all we got was the regular bullshit we've seen in every other harem story.
As a parody, however, this story stands high and mighty. Ever wonder why a harem protagonist is so popular? Well, this protagonist was blessed/cursed, he is so beautiful that his mother and sister both tries to r*pe him, the harem logic finally makes sense! And everything in the new vampire country is plagiarized from something, even the national anthem is an anime song, which makes it laughable. So while this story fails at the whole "vampire" part, it's surprisingly good from a parody perspective. Though, as a MacGuffin, maybe a vampire kingdom wasn't the best choice... If this was isekai, it would've been a lot more entertaining. Then again, this story is over a decade old, so it's just before the isekai boom we're having today.
Art: The art is good for a rom-com. The girls are cute and the black'n white art looks a bit different than normal, which makes is more memorable. Rough lines with good character designs.
Characters: Unfortunately the characters are a bit weak, for a rom-com. For a parody, they are good. A borderline suicidal friend, a tsundere, and a boy that every (human) girl wants to forcefully mate with. These characters are flawed, annoying, and not very likable. But that is also why they are so entertaining. It's like konosuba, every character is completely fu*ked up, but together they make a fun bunch of people.
Overall. This story is both good and bad. Both boring and entertaining. As a "romantic" comedy, it's bad. As a parody of normal harem stories, it's good. So in the end, it's up to the readers if they want to take this story seriously or not. In my mind, this story is supposed to be a joke to be laughed at, but if it was actually a serious attempt on a good harem series', then, I'm sorry? I guess? Finally, this author has written other works that I've read. They all started as entertaining enough, but eventually became boring and forgettable. Let's hope that this old and outdated "rom-com" was his masterpiece that is finally getting the attention it deserves. After all, the physical release in english is still brand new.
And to quote the suicidal girl from this tale comes these beautiful yet sad words:
" I can't wait for the sweet embrace of death. "

A little girl on a tricycle is slowly coming at you. You jump to the side, and gets hit by a truck. "Truck-sama strikes again!"
Story: This is a parody of isekai. So even though we are all fu*king tired of isekai, this story might just be enjoyable. It's so exaggerated that it's hard to even imagine, it's completely and absolutely absurd. But a great parody.
The plot is three heroes of a fantasy world were spiritually replaced by people that died in "a foolish way", to make it easier to kill these heroes. I mean I hate isekai but this plot is a masterpiece. There's no
...
heavy build up, no hero summoning. The world itself is typical isekai, but our characters are so silly that it's feels new and fresh. The monsters, skills, and everything else "isekai typical" has been made to make you laugh at it's stupidity. So, if you like parody, this is truly a great story. However you actually like serious isekai, then this manga is a huge slap in the face.
Art: The character art is surprisingly good for being a parody manga, cute characters and ugly monsters. But the backgrounds are minimalistic. Sometimes you can't see if it's a desert, or a rain forest...
Characters: The three main characters and their respective skills are very well made as parody. So exaggerated that it makes KONOSUBA look boring. But surprisingly we have normal and likable sub-characters. So it's obvious that the creator want the main characters to be ridiculously stupid.
Overall. As comedy, it's good work. But if you can't laugh at this stupidity, it will probably suck. The story is weak, but the humor is strong. So in the end, the question is, do you want to laugh at the stupidity of isekai? If so, this is truly the manga to read.
Also, some isekai have sex scenes for fan-service. A parody of that would be...? Grotesque rotten zombies, making love to each other. Imagine that. Zombie x Zombie = true love.

"What I wanted wasn't superpowers. I wanted the extraordinary days that comes with superpowers."
Story: *heavy sigh* A training arc starts in the very first chapter, and it drags on for 80pages. Our protagonist can't even move a cookie at first, and suddenly he can pick up Mt. Everest, or crush Godzilla like it's a marshmellow. To make it simple. The character development is rushed. A useless Zero turns into a overpowered Hero. But the world is still the same as the first page of chapter one. A boring Japan, with nothing happening. The "Godzilla" was just a hypothetical, it's not even real.
The problem is,
...
this novel has no need for heroes. Think of it like this, One Punch Man. If there were no monsters and no enemies, but Saitama is still just as strong, what would the point of it even be? This novel promised us a hero that, despite having no enemies, would create his own extraordinary days. All we got was boring training that lead to nowhere.
Characters: The protagonist is very single-minded and honest. He refuse to use his superpower for selfish gain. After gaining superpowers, he would still study several hours per day. He went to collage, got a real job. Honestly. it's the most boring protagonist I know of. The author tried really hard to make a realistic and calculating protagonist, but he doesn't even feel human. He was a teenager with superpowers, and he still thought that homework was important. Boring, in a word, boring.
Overall. We were promised extraordinary days. The protagonist was bored of living a life that was normal. But the most abnormal thing in this novel was when he considered picking up a cat with his superpower, and throwing it around like a ball. And even then, he just "considered it for a brief moment".
The author tried to make a realistic supernatural story. What if a real teenager where to have superpowers in the boring world we live in today? The answer, study hard, get a job he hates, and dream of what his secret base in the north pole would be like, if only he could build one. Sure, I only read 75% of the first volume. But considering this light novel series is only 2volumes. I read at least a third of the series, and still nothing ever happened.
