Borrow but improvise , is the best way to describe mashle, and In my opinion most fantasy/isekai should learn from this example.
It's been a while since we got a good parody anime with a good setting which was able to distinguish itself rather than try to cash in on a particular type, we have had wannabe konosuba clones and wannabe one punch man clones but they teen to forget that even if they are able to feed off of a starved for content audience they will inevitably be forgotten since there is already something similar which is in the store.
Mashle by all means is
...
kind of a mixed bag of knockoffs , and its quite plain to see.
We have mash who is clearly an inspiration and closely resembles saitama in his unassuming demeanor and lack of emotions. We also have a very clearly harry potter inspired magic school setting with a very standard shounen power level defining scale with the number of face lines defining the amount of magic power/mana but the potency of the same can be honed with other methods this allows for a fairly nuanced and open ended battles with some surprising upsets also being possible. And a relatable oddball story which is loosely black clover inspired which makes for interesting and hilarious outcomes due to mash being severely underestimated.
There are several examples of anime that do this , but not many examples of anime that manage to do them ALL in a well balanced and entertaining way , most which try , make themselves over complicated or fail the parody and comedy aspect quite hard.
Plot (7/10)
Well , the start of the series is quite straightforward , there is an unusual kid in a world where your magical prowess determines everything to the point that those who cant use magic are deemed as good as dead. mash is unable to use said magic and hence has been secretly raised up by his adoptive grandpa in a remote forest in a way that ensured that he trained with muscles and physical strength enough so that he may fend for himself. Now this made him quite the emotionless and dumb guy due to his lack of human interaction and understanding the room or any of the fancy social stuff. This is basically the first two eps , now circumstances ofc lead to the academy being introduced into the mix with him requiring to earn some gold coins (you know accomplish feats means good boi coins kinda thing).now this is standard shounen story with a well defined route and endgame but it also manages to squeeze a good amount of comedy and parody of the same here . Then we get the very obvious Harry Potter inspired personality based house sorting system after which we go full steam ahead with a first major villain arc with some minor pens along the route with hints of a “mysterious third faction”. The flow of the plot is good , interaction of characters is also minimal with a mostly infodumps approach for system explanation but some comedy and parody hidden here and there to keep entertainment value fairly up.
Characters (7/10)
Mash and his gang have a bunch of nice and quirky yet unique in a way kids. They do have trope inducing kinks like the obsessed girl , the siscon , the wanna be cool mc guy and the scaredy mfer, but most of them are used for parody effect and probably designed in such a way intentionally and are able to fit their comedic roles nicely. Mash is the saiatama clone with straight face and often blunt response to standard villain jargons, however he is much of a nice and innocent figure due to his righteous and hermit like lifestyle. The characters do manage to mesh together well , individually they dont emit much of an aura and its only fun when they are horsing around / interacting with others. Villains are also slightly better than your standard punching back goon , but usually have shallow / predictable backstory with a nakama approach of changing to good from evil.
Sound and VA (9/10)
The OP and ED are both fuckin amazing and the OST is also quite the banger with mash getting quite the spotlight due to the BGMN during his cool scenes. The VA is alright with only the red hair guy being a bit of a standout.
Art and animation (8/10)
It has amazing art and background design which drive home the amazing magic school feeling which doesnt feel like a cheap harry potter imitation, the background and setting art does the heavy work for this purpose , and i am also satisfied with the uniform / house designs. The animation is really good as well with amazing sakuga for action scenes. The only problem is the usually dull and uninspiring monster designs.
This is a must watch for comedy/ parody fans who miss one punch / saiki kusou type of plot line. If you like magic school and harry potter type stories too it would be easily pleasing for you.
I can also recommend watching the first two for understanding if the comedy works for you even if you are generally not interested in this genre.

I Don’t have any enemies ~ a ferocious warmongering viking.
Those who only “watched” season 1 of vinland saga or are unfamiliar with season 2 will definitely get baffled by this statement and what occurs in season 2 of this anime.
Those who “Understood” rewatched and completely absorbed the ending of season1 of vinland saga will completely understand why and how the season2 flows and leads to probably the best point the series has reached till date.
Now before I start a raging debate between those who miss the action and battles of season 1 let me remind you where things went wrong , and why the vinland
...
saga is so masterfully crafted that many actually forgot the most important factor and plot point of the story.
It was the SACRIFICE of thors not the Murder of thors that has brought us to this point of the story, throughout the first arc of thorofin being a kid and thors guiding him towards being a true warrior , we were given hint after hint , that thors wanted his kid to learn what it meant to be a real warrior , to have strength to fight injustice not cause it , to protect oneself and to have mercy and remorse for every single human being because no one is TRULY your enemy. Those who rewatched or have completely taken their time to analyze and absorb dialogues of season 1 will know, the Thorofin Revenge arc was not him training up to kill askeladd but him losing his way due to rage, anger and hate. Through his murderfest he kills or causes death and destruction upon many he was unwilling to harm, which only eat away at him later.
The problem is many of us due to the beautiful nature of the writing , were also consumed by the same hate and rage , since we have been taught to relate most with the protagonist, so throfins fit of rage and violent path full of mistakes seem REASONABLE and JUSTIFIED, only when askeladd tells him in his final moments how pointless his past few years have been of him being stuck in a loop of hate rather than moving further do we see the infamous knife dropping scene , where throfin sees a flash of his violent past now knowing that in the end it was all for naught.
Plot (10/10)
The story is so well written that you can make arguments on both sides of a controversial topic without any side seeming like a pea brain , the morality of owning a slave , the option of being nice to everyone but losing control since that is how the medieval era works one cannot afford to look weak. In this season we explore the absolute limits of till when to simply endure and till when does a real warrior not resort to violence , the appearance of throfinn is not all that has changed in him hence I cannot blame anyone to failing to more or less recognize who he is as a character, the sole embodiment of hatred violence for thorfinn died right in front of him and hence he is basically lost , he considers his 10+ years of struggle a complete pointless grasp at a goal that was futile in the end since even when he was offered his revenge , he could not accept it. This is due to the unfair world that he had lived in , he had formed an unfortunate but rather common image of a true warrior, this image of a warrior kills scores of people with ease and efficiency , craves valor and tough fights , embraces wounds and longs for a duel to the death . so when the symbol of his hatred askeladd, who to an extent that even had his respect went on to choose a noble sacrifice is when the story for season2 was set , with thorfinn realizing his quest for revenge was pointless since askeladd too was more of a warrior than he was, the struggle at the farm and thorfinn learning of the fruit of the labor of man and real hardwork was a character development arc that took a pretty long time indeed , but it was probably the most important arc of the story where throfinn learns that he was mistaken and this time he would follow the last words of the two people he respected the most and become a true warrior. The pacing is slow but smooth now it would be weird if thorfinn straight up went to war and refused to kill so the plot intentionally drives up the SEVERITY OF THE INJUSTICES in the farm arc hence why it would FEEL SLOW but is just a way to help us get used to the new thorfinn. starting with mild bullying to all out war and this time the response of thorfinn slowly changes due to him and the people around him.
Characters (9/10)
There is a almost a complete cast refresh and also a new MC that is introduced in this season , this new character Einar is also brilliantly written and is a complete direct counterpart of the old MC , he had been on the receiving end of the spectrum and is beyond the point of just letting things slide and simply enduring . Einar is indeed a new rage thorfinn in the making however this season the development of throfinn as a person and as warrior helped him guide Einar and made sure that Einar does not fall into the same abyss and cycle as him . the other characters like Ketil snake and his crew and Arnheid were good additions . Arnheid is the epitome of all that is unjust in this world and the amount of suffering she has to go through is frankly a bit much. She is the one who is a consent less sex slave , also has to relive her painful past and suffer major consequences , all this misfortune falling only on one single character is a little bit of a forceful sympathy enhancement drug i feel but yes it serves as important triggers for very important events and do have lasting consequences on almost every single character. The development of the side characters is mostly fast paced when in comparison to thorfinn which could be because of them being adults by this point.
Sound and VA (10/10)
Mappa never disappoints in terms of soundtrack so many amazing songs for the op and ed were selected , I was pissed when the switch happened but gradually loved the new Op and ED as well. The OST fits the slice of life moments really well and is a good fit and most of the old themes make comebacks at very tangible and crucial moments and add extra meaning to them and made me love those old OST from s1 even more. The VA job for every character was phenomenally done , this is the one series I make sure I have headphones on for .
Art and animation (9/10)
The art in the farm arc rivaled that of prime mushoku tensie and the CGI and animation during fight scenes as well as the choreography of the fights is flawless , most of them seem to be real life motion capture of realistic medieval fights, the artstyle remains a bit mappa biased and if you have seen their other works you can certainly tell that it is a mappa work. THe art in the OP and EDs are always jawdropping good and mappa really spared no expense with this series.
A ONE HUNDERED PERCENT MUST WATCH, i would recommend trying to rewatch s1 and try to completely absorb the story to avoid feeling lost.

I tried akasaka, I tried my best to love this new series of yours for which you so mercilessly murdered your already beloved kaguya sama love is war , I tried to love it like i loved love is war even joined the hype , but just like the idol Ai, it was completely a fabricated love that only got converted to indifference as the episodes went by. Since it's by all means just a ….
A ONE EPISODE HIT WONDER, Which is very polarizing in its depiction of the film industry and is for the most part, just a revenge porn story since that
...
is the primary motivation of the main character and adds the illusion of meaning and motivation for us to follow this edgelord of an ‘adult’.
Oshi no ko the next big thing by akasaka sensei who had the credibility and popularity of kaguya sama behind them and the faith of the fans to produce yet another masterpiece. Kaguya sama, a loved series, rushed to completion so that akasaka could completely focus on this manga alone. Many anitubers or should i call them social media influencers with podcasts now ?praised it as the one true holy grail of immaculate writing and heartbreaking drama with a headspining mystery in the mix. And what came off of all this? a one episode shocker that set expectations but failed to meet any of them so far.
There was only ONE episode of oshi no ko that even deserves any of the attention the show has got till date, I am no hater , I completely agree that the first episode of oshi no ko WAS AN IMMACULATE masterpiece, but we are here for the review of the entire season are we not?
While the rest of the episodes are not bad by any means some of them are actually pretty good, but I can't help but feel that we go through a downward spiral from episode one onwards.
Plot (5/10)
The whole plot is kinda meh because of these three things
1)reincarnation seems pointless other than giving the MC and FMC an unfair edge.
2)The whole story is a convoluted excuse to gather sympathy for film industry workers because the story could literally be the same without the media industry gimmick. The whole show has a solemn and negative look only and it hardly EVER BOTHERS to show the positives of the film industry.
3) literally half of each episode past episode 1 is monologue heavy rants on why the industry is shit , and then the second half is usually showing it being shit.
The whole reincarnation aspect is just cardboard armor to give validity to the rage of aqua and also him not being able to let go. Just as spyder95 said in the forums it's to make it “different from being a fan and son to simply a son. his love for ai was insane and without that it wouldn't give him the true driving force he needed to seek revenge”. And not to mention the level of hypocrisy of the main character who actively hates the industry for having caused AI harm but then also proceeds to actively manipulate and maneuver people to achieve his less than ideal goal of revenge. Except for showing us any of the positives for many people here who could be aspiring actors, youtubers and whatnot , it tries to devolve more and more into the negative aspects of the film industry.
And what is the whole theme of the story? Actors and actresses have it hard because they are popular and pretty. So well do normal people not have stalkers? Are normal people not murdered? Do you think common people aren't used to negative attention and flaming in social media? The formula of oshi no ko is very clear to garner fake empathy for these stars and of course to utilize the under tapped idol otaku market. Of course they get all of the above in a bigger scale , but they make a much bigger impact so it's unavoidable. The film industry people who, more often than not, lead a much more fun and comfortable life than any of us are glorified for what purpose. I understand none of it. There is no description of the film industry here , only showing the dark side of it.
Yes there is some drawbacks and politics in this industry but that IS EVER PRESENT everywhere for every fucking job, so just going on and on about how manipulative and shitty this industry is they never ever explore any of the positives like how complicated acting is , how hard it is to learn to dance and sing to produce and direct and add VFX and SFX.the concept of talent in acting , facial expressions and the very complex art of costume design and cosmetics in this industry is all just a SKIP, they only ever concentrate on drama.
It's just the internet hates them sob sob , the industry manipulating them sob sob again. Where is the love and adoration of fans, pure wow moments of acting and productions, where is the bugatti and alcohol and posh life with free connections to the upper echelon of the world?
SO AKASAKA SENSEI are you really just gonna preach about HOW SHITTY IT IS TO work in the film Industry and there simply no reward for doing that? No love , recognition , fame , influence , wealth and satisfaction in working in this industry?
Oh sorry aka sensei you must think i am just an internet troll and definitely not worth your time.
Now to be completely fair , it does do what it set out to do perfectly well. The depiction of the struggles to make it big into the film/idol industry is depicted pretty well in the journey of kana but it does it in a much more negative spiral. The cons of working in the film industry the ironically two faced political nature of this industry and them even using up and coming stars who are still underaged teens or children even as pawns is sadly something that is a reality and more so in japan than one would like to believe , the deranged nature of the idol otaku fandom with the love for only 20 or below girls who show off their airhead cutesy nature while very clearly showing off body lines with the dance is depicted as well with a good amount of accuracy.it's no wonder that the most heinous and weird sort of crimes occur mostly with the fans of idol otaku involved, so the setting and what ends up happening in end of episode one have a very good amount of credibility.
Character (7/10)
The characters are made as miserable as possible with most of them having some sort of issue due to the industry. There is a big attempt at comedy as well , most of which falls short of what we know akasaka sensei to be capable of. The setting is mostly based on the MC POV of aqua, and he is the most boorish and annoying adult reincarnated as a kid who spent three years brute forcing a phone for revenge rather than enjoy his SECOND chance at life (even counting isekai here this is just pathetic) are we supposed to teach people who tragically lost their parents in a crime to YEAH BOI GO GET EM attitude? He has mostly depressive and monotonous dialogues on being cautious of the industry and it being very dangerous is completely fed to us at regular intervals by especially by him and sometimes kana and the adoptive mother. But we barely ever move on from this (just like aqua ig :3) are we seriously supposed to believe that the industry is not for positive and driven people at all? so sadly yeah this does tend to turn out more like a drama with a very selectively negative outlook. The MC is also a complete hypocrite who will blame and lash out on the industry for all he cares and still be manipulating the underage teenagers for his less than ideal objectives which is frankly also putting them in harm's way since he is looking for a literal criminal using these girls.
The girls in question tho are given much more attention than the MC which i am kinda thankful for due to his edgelord tendencies, the girls are a bit more enjoyable due to them still being able to add a bit of positivity and cuteness to this anime but they too get hit with some quite disturbing and depressing arcs at times.
The whole kana redemption arc from start to finish did establish who the main girl is , and if there is romance , I guess we know who is winning( first meet takes the meat :3). The subtle changes in her personality from a very confident and sassy little child, to a a confident front and sassy attitude which has a deeper defeatist mindset was honestly good writing and i was very satisfied with the kana character arc alone. The FMC and mem characters honestly felt like filler side characters so far. While this is fine for the obvious side, cutey MEM with a hidden cult just like hayasaka, this is unacceptable for ruby to be so much outshone by her brother and kana while showing not much character other than having a bad past life and being able to move on unlike her brother.
The mystery and the hunt for revenge is in a very early stage so its hard to comment there , also because the pseudo emo boy with dark past nature of Aqua (even tho he is supposed to be an adult and even the kid was able to let go and move forward) is kinda annoying so I tend to fast forward to those scenes.
Sound VA (9/10)
Ok make no mistake here that the sound and VA performance in this series is the best of the best , if it would have been carried by better characters and plot id easily give it a 10.the Voice actors are from the top and best of the industry since oshi no ko has a very big presence and is one of the biggest productions they all definitely gave their 100% and it shows . The most notable was obviously Hoshino AI who was able to convert the first episode into an absolute hit and a shocker. Adult FMC and MC also do a good job in their on screen moments. The side characters the most shining example is kana and the rest are memorable as well for the most part. The OST of shi no ko needs no introduction , the OP is a universally acclaimed banger and almost everyone who is an anime fan acknowledges this , the ED while being a bit overlooked flows in at the end of each episode perfectly and is able to add a bit of excitement for the next. The art in OP as I have been seeing a trend of lately is better than that of ED, the sound and VFX of the anime are able to add a good amount of effect in the scenes but most of the sad melodramatic things are kinda overshot IMO.the ed really helps bring out the best of the cliffhanger ends and adds that effect.
Art and animation ( 9/10 )
The art in this anime is actually flawless , the way they were able to represent and actually full show in the first episode with the hype tension and audience was really good, the dance and synced very well with the song and much of it is carried through to the later episodes , the stalker scene with aqua had very good art and animation as well . I have to also give a huge shout out to the beautiful way the Eyes are drawn in this anime and they do add a separate layer of immersion when they are on highlight.
Ok i still think it is a must watch anime. yeah sure that it was only a one episode hit wonder In my Opinion and those who really wanted an unbiased decent narrative may find themselves a bit disappointed , but overall I can say it was a good ride and I will still look forward to the next season and hope that it improves upon the flaws, and hopefully stops being a sad soap opera and show us the bright side of the picture. At Least give the first one a go. It's an one hour long episode which was actually really good.

The best of golden kamuy once again , I am very thankful that the new studio change has not made any impact on the quality of the show, since this is a season4 review I am gonna assume everyone is atleast a decent way into the series and knows and loves golden kamuy just like i do so i will not do much fangirling and get into the review
plot (9/10)
the hunt for the gold has become the main focus once more since Asiripa is now reunited with the gang. I love the fact that some of the journey that people of different factions had with
...
each other have had lasting changes in them , especially tsukishima and koito. the mystery of the gold is yet too far and it feels like we may find once piece faster than the gold xD. the flow of the story does have the allowance of certain filler episodes in the name of collecting new skins (oh the gaming fans will relate :3). the subtle hints and the character portrayal of especially the old dogs like hijikata and tsurumi is a mastr peiece and still the best example of a mental state of broken people in an anime that I have seen in ages. the newer characters also made a substantial enough impact but at the cost of screentime of the hijikata faction .the only problem was the brief hiatus the story went through but it shouldnt be a problem for the new viewers anyway.
characters (10/10)
no one writes better seinen characters than the author of golden kamuy, one may argue that they are very very polarizing in their ideology and can be unrealistically violent and ruthless but it just shows how brutal and hard the war was on these people. the character arcs of the major faction leaders are coming to an ominous conclusive end and I cant wait to see how it shapes the ending and the conflict between them. the writing for the characters is fabulous as always but we did not see much developement in the form of many characters , only asiripa if we speak of the mains and tsukishima and koito for the side characters developed in any way and the rest remained more or less the same. tsurumi did show a bit of a reveal that may have hints to his real motivations but we are mostly left with speculation.
art and animation (9/10)
as always the art of golden kamuy is flawless unique and honestly so underrated in the west. we got a perfect representation of ainu culture which is what made golden kamuy what it is . the accuracy and ambience of the 1900 war torn japan/ russia is also very well done. the animation throughout this season was amazing and it could be argued that it is even an upgrade with most of the signature fast paced but brutal and interesting fights being more fluid and having a ton of more sakuga than before. the art in the OP was great , but they went a more unique and stylized ED which i cant complain about but it was definetly more about art than animation.
sound and VA (10/10)
in traditional golden kamuy fashion both the OP and ED are both already in my playlist and certified bangers, the VA of the cast is as it was the last few seasons so not much to add there other than them being iconic unique and hopefully trend setting.the ost was also good but mostly had most of originals in use with some remixed versions.
welll what can i say , golden kamuy is still the one single anime that i "accidently stumbled upon" and i still to this day am glad for since it really established my love for anime as a form of entertainment.if you havent given it a shot already , it is a must watch and the manga is an award winning best seinen of this decade so you dont have to just take my word for it.

this is the basic diabetic slice of life romance that we have been fed for the past two or three years in a row.
there is not much to even review about to be honest xD so ill be brief here.
plot (5/10)
this has basic girl meets guy first episode where they seem to be just getting along work wise but then some wierd starcroft lover bs happens and now the MC is hit with multiple DEBUFFS, I kid you not being tied with star magic fate is just debuffs and nothing more. then we get to certain train of events where the FMC uses manga I
...
kid you not MANGA as a reference of her being in love with the MC and then we get the most half assed confession i have seen in a long long time and boom they a couple now.
now to be fair if you can ignore this sequence of events and just accept the weird fantasy shit , this turns to a quite nice and healthy slice of life romance after the fact. there is also the two children who are the siblings of the MC and we do get some adorable and childcare moments with them with the MC and FMC acting like their parents and it is quite the heartwarming fluffy relationship. the romance is rather straightforward with some normal couple dates , some family outings. the developement is quite slow and well fleshed out with some good couple moments and even a kiss in the first season WOW. then comes the wierd star crossed bs with a holy tweezer causing them unending doubts on their relationship being a lie or whatnot wow WTF!
characters (7/10)
it is not helped by the fact that the MC is kinda pathetic and has a lot of weird quirks that make him a cuck and makes him look like the average NTR able protagonist , he never steps up for himself always puts himself down, but this is apparently anintentional trait and the FMC does point that she hates this behaviour so I will say that the character writing and devlopment is wholesome and they do develop and become better people for each other and the kids. so this and the kids being adorable little creatures is probably the only saving grace of the anime since the other characters dont make much of an impact at all rather than add some drama or comedy.
art and animation (5/10)
sound and VA (5/10)
the fact that the art and animation is as basic as it could be with the generic soft colors slice of life hightlights and background , and a quite lazily drawn ED and OP art does not help the already struggling plot and character writing , the Sound design also leaves much to be desired with genric cutesy OST and a above average OP and ED song. the whole show is just budget romance slice of life that nobody asked for but i am sure still some will enjoy.the VA job is also quite boring as is the character of the MC however so i am not sure how to rate that. the FMC does manage to display a good hime persona tho.
In my honest opinion the fantasy elements should not have existed , the FMC being orm a major religious group hence the relationship not working and here living a mostly secluded life could have been a much better and similar route. this is still watchable if you have nothing better to watch , and or if you are a vanilla slice of life romance with a little bit of drama in it. a one or two episode try could be warranted.

Okay guys we all know the kind of audience for this one , and for them one word
This one is a big yes , you gotta watch it.
if asked about the great distinguishing or attractive aspect of megami cafe ill come up with a big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but as an harem anime which is supposed to be about cute color coded (yes the harem enthusiasts will know what i mean xD) girls with slightly tropey I am gonna go for the poster finish for those who dont know the names tsundere(long haired purple) , dandere (the big boobed green hair) , genki deredere (twintails
...
blonde), kuudere (short hair blonde) and and a ahodere (tall blue) . this combined with a none idiotic and slightly respectable Main character who is actullay kind of semi self aware and is able to recognize and even act on the feellings of some of the girls is enjoayble harem romance , which reminds me of the goo ol days.
plot is not to special , the setting is a convinient excuse for a time limit for the girls trynna grab the MC attention while also validating him living with them and allow for some enhanced echhi scenes, the echhi scenes goes as far as side booba and thinghs with a good amount of ass too, but most of it is underwear walkins. the progression and the trigger points for conquering the girls are kind of reasonable and are well placed helping the MC become a decent enough guy in the mean time. by the end of the season i think we are about 2 down with 1 flag being active.
art and animation is okay , the artstyle reminds me of the good harems of old and that was a good war call to our fellow harem bretheren who havent got a good treat since the quints. animation is not much to write home about but the art being good and the girls being beautifully drawn does make up for it a little bit.
sound and VA wise, i hate the ahodere and here VA as a whole , but i guess the character itself was amade as such. the VA of the rest of the character are trope valid and gernally well don , I simply cannot get tht OP of this anime out of my head it is catchy and helps bring out the cuteness of all the girls quite well (and color coded them quite nicely too xD).
oh yeah the ratings lol , its 6 for plot maybe a 7 for characters since its a good harme setup with decent and likeable mc and a 7 for artstyle alone since animiation aint that good but the old harem esque artstyle will help a lot, sound and VA is an uninspriing 6 but ill up it to 7 becuase of the OP
A must watch for my harem enthusiast brothers , this is a call to arms this might be the next big harem TBH

What is your definition of insanity?
Insanity is doing the exact... same fucking thing... over and over again expecting... shit to change…
The first season of tonikawa did manage to shake up the anime fandom quite a bit gone were the days of waiting for three seasons for the couples to actually become a thing , we had them marry right from the get go! and to top it all off we got decent character writing , good progression, almost diabetes inducing cute and sweet scenes, and an actual mystery brewing in the background about tsukasa and her origins.
But in season 2?
Amusement park episode , hot springs
...
episode and A sauna episode?
How the mighty have fallen.
Problem is season 2s of most romance animes is usually about developing the characters and helping them get closer with their relationship , here however since their relationship is already at the best it ever could be xD it feels like an advert to marry someone in japan for half the season.
Plot (5/10)
The first season had better pacing and fluffy moments than the second one , the second one usually went for the tropey date event episodes with a slight twist here and there. The mystery of season one was completely forgotten till we were 8 episodes in. problem with date event episodes is that it does not feel that special anymore because there are no developments left to be made (they already married bro xD) and the characters of tsukasa and nasa have hit a ceiling on interesting conversation and most of it just flows with tuskasa being shy and nasa adoring his wife or either nasa looking like a cool dependable multipurpose guy or tsukasa looking like a classy newlywed wife. The wedding dress arc is what in my opinion saved the plot from being outright trope garbage and did give a glimpse of being as strong as the first season with a beautiful and fun dialogue , good amount of characters and a good bit of exposition on some of the mystical aspects.
Characters (7/10)
The characters of tsukasa and nasa are actually a good fit for each other , a classy and elegant wife who is loving and has a pretty cute side and a mentally and educationally strong husband who is actually a ditzy idiot at times and is surprisingly easy to dupe. This relationship is frankly one that is easy to see even IRL and hence adds a lot of adorable points in my opinion to this duo. The side characters were not very well used in the first part of the season with most of it being date solo so we did miss their POV and development quite a bit since the wedding arc was also about the main duo. There is a hidden secondary couple whose journey was pretty lovely as well , this was a good writing gimmick since we can no longer feel butterflies in our stomach on an already married couple on a date so having a new focus and more than that having the main duo help them nudge it there while reminiscing of their own ordeal was a good cycle to see .
Art and animation (5/10)
Very , very basic looking art with little to no animation gimmicks applied to the same. Background art is usually pretty generic and dull with standard hot springs or adventure park art backgrounds present with little to no emphasis on anything other than the main or side characters. The animation is also not too great. The real couple moments are also just out of the fact moment with a bit of red added to the face to show blushing xD? Animation is usually not a highlight and any scene has mostly walking animation or camera panning at best , some may have a bit of movement but its linear. The Op and ED dont have that great of art but have a bit more animation than the general package.
Sound and VA (6/10)
VA was just okay nothing of note or nothing to critique about either. The OP has a good song with it which has a good nostalgic feeling since its quite clearly inspired or a continuation of the season 1 op. ED is nothing too great IMO.
This is a weaker continuation of the first season , it's more slice of life in the first half with no clear sense of direction and weak repetitive comedy , but if you like cute vanilla romance with no drama this is still one of the best picks. I'd be hard pressed to recommend to anyone who did not enjoy season1 Though and those who loved season1 or can manage a few episode of goalless slice of life then this may be a good time since it does get satisfactory towards the end.

Well this is degenerate trash that I probably would have not bothered to even look at but if you want to know if it's your type check out the trailer THOSE BIG JUICY THIGHS are what convinced me to give this one a go , and I was not disappointed. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
But wait DON'T DROP IT just yet , it's not all about the fanservice , if you are able to tolerate a bit of the scumbag behavior and weird thigh cultism , there is actually a decent narrative underneath this is a actually decent narrative that manages to make for a
...
fun watch.
my thoughts on this one aren't too profound. I just initially watched it because I am a thighs enthusiast but to discuss other aspects I'll just jump straight to the ratings this time.
First of all This is not an isekai. Somehow there is a gross misconception that all cheap fantasy involving hero and demon lords must have some sorta isekai element but this is not the case here. That said , an setting with demon lord and heroes does need a decent bit of worldbuilding and power scaling and we do manage to get both albeit not a very strong system. The world building is actually pretty good with the Hero of old having had a pretty good impact on it as well
And ilike that the MC has actually got a well written and tragic past and he learnt the skills that are actually interesting out of the box and lead to hilarious outcomes and fights. plot is a 7/10
characters are quite fun but they do remain one dimensional like touka being the perv / hero , yuuna the second man who hits the mc all the time , the hime being classic damsel and so on. id go with a 6/10 here
Although the art and animation leave much to be desired they do shine where they need to , like the fanservice moments ;3 and some of the fights id give art and animation, the art in general is a bit more unique with some unique character designs here and there. a 6/10
Op is really well made the VA is a bit corny but that is just how the dialogues are , the ost is decent but most the devils sound kinda crap but i guess that may or may not be intentional i mean they said they are all perverts. probably a 7/10 again
This is a good show if you can tolerate the over the top fanservice that is quite repetitive so dont expect it to go away , the narrative is quite decent so ill recommend atleast giving the first three episodes a shot. this is a subjective one tho and if you hate fanservice , stay away.

The long awaited sequel?prequel?sidestory yeah fuck that, its more konosuba and I am here for it.
Its a worthy continuation of the best and the most renowned and only example Cute girls being dumb as fuck and doing dumb shit in anime, and this time its all girls ? and also all of them chunni master magicians , hell yeah quite the treat in more ways than one.
The crimson devil (sidestory is the apt thing here I guess) actually was a bit of a surprise when it was announced , I personally thought konosuba is mostly just a parody and does not have enough
...
depth in its plot to warrant a sidestory to enhance its world. I was quite wrong since the way that the author was able to extract a decent narrative , neatly wrap up some plot holes and also expand into this world was quite genius all the while being able to add some very hilarious behind the scene context and cameos that was a treat for the hungry fans of konosuba who have been waiting for a long time for this like me.
Plot (7/10)
The plot has a neat trick since it manages to have the gag comedy we all love from kono suba mixed with isekai parody , while also managing to get out a decent narrative. The plot hole of chomusuke and who she is where did she come from is handled well and we also get a good focus on megumin’s and yun yun’s friendship / rivalry. The whole crimson village characters who made cameos in the movie get a lot more exposure and exposition dumped in and makes them more lovable as a whole package. Lot of kazuma and the other duo of girls are also thrown in the mix at certain places and they also give us some glimpses of the early days of kazuma and aqua. The pacing is good for an isekai and it does very well to prepare us for the sequel to the main story. But for the most part its just a good way to cover some plot holes and a little more exposure to our fav konosuba girl ,megumin.
Characters (7/10)
The characters are there and most of them have a good amount of artstyle and it leaves you curious , but they remain very heavily underutilized. Except of the priest lady from axis cult and the warlord level imouto, komeko we barely have any good recognizable side characters. Back in crimson school there were so many surely quirky girls that were present but we never got much screentime or dialogue with them. The rest of the characters sadly are only ever utilized for gags or make random camoes here and there . Its basically a story about the friendship of yun yun and megumin for the most part.
Art and animation (7/10)
Animation was almost the parent story level in the first three or four episodes but it quickly slides downwards as we get further in, the megumin with demons and yunyun fights were quietly skimmed over, and some of the meme and reaction faces are a shadow of the original work they are still funny enough but that's mostly due to the plot and the VA rather than art or animation. The art is as close to the parent series as possible and there are no complaints there.
Sound and VA (8/10)
As always the VA of megumin does a killer job and most of the comedy hits becuase of her and the VA of yunyun. The OST is mostly the original parent anime’s ost or sometimes a spin on those themes. The op is alright adventure feeling pumped up stuff fitting for an isekai setting , the ED is really unique and cute , and the best one of the season for me.
Honestly if you are a konosuba fan , this is a must watch it sets up the next season and helps wrap up the plot nicely. Its a must watch if you loved the original series and want more of the same with a slightly different perspective.

A slice of life that is more heartwarming than a romance anime (galaxy next door) ? And has better nuanced and realistic characters than an anime posing as a mystery anime (home hero)? Wow sign me the fuck up.
It's no surprise that Skip and loafer is an award winning manga, tho why is the title skip and loafer is still a mystery to me to this day.It has got the best blend of characters most of who are quite faithfully written ordinary highschool kids with no severe and unrealistic quirk for the sake of being interesting. It does this while also balancing
...
a good amount of tension and drama but it does not hamper the feel good slice of life feeling from the original setting.
Simply put it is a highschool anime done right and I cannot emphasize enough how much I was missing this , since nowadays you either need an edgelord, monologue heavy hachiman clone or a very quirky character or maybe even a janky af setting in the mix to try to grab a few eyes.
Skip and loafer manages to be just a normal highschool anime with realistic and fun characters with normal lives and normal issues which they try to overcome themselves or with the help of others.
There is not much I can write about the plot or characters without spoiling so I'll try to stray away from any plot points in general.
Plot (7/10)
Being a slice of life it should be no surprise that there is no amazing amount of depth to the story. It is the classic inaka (country) girl goes to tokyo and her life troubles and social discoveries of this newfound setting. It also has the classic cute girls doing cute things as well as romance trope episodes like the beach ep , the karaoke ep , the zoo ep and more of the same. Though I will admit that the amount that this show is able to do with the amount of legroom it has is fascinating and credit to the author for being able to squeeze out a decent narrative out of each episode. Each episode we see a development of significance or at least there is a setup for the same , most of these said developments don't turn out to be some might world altering events, but are realistic real world issues that do make for an interesting watch. There are also some just straight up very cute and chill slice of life episodes with not much substance in terms of plot in them.
characters(9/10)
This is the strongest point of this anime and certainly the one that differentiates it from the loads of slice of life anime that have been churned out by the industry lately. The characters are not one dimensional , there are hidden sides to each of them , some bad traits like we expect kids to have but they wholeheartedly accept each other even the flaws and also work on making themselves better people. This makes watching them slowly grow closer and trust each other with their mistakes and also have a good time together while also being able to remain true to themselves and able to show who they really are (which is a very rare thing in asia) a good and cute depiction of a good highschool friend group who would probably grow up to some amazing people.there are certain characters that come off in a bad light but once you see enough of them you love them even more since they feel human , they are not idealistic and all goody goody like most anime. One of the main characters even has a dedicated character arc where they are able to get over a past mistake and are in great part helped by this new friend group and we are hence left at the last episode with this amazing group of people who can only get closer.
Sound and VA (8/10)
The Voice acting of the aunt of the FMC is what stood out to me , she really does sound like a trap and reverse trap at the same time and does portray the original manga character quite well. The rest of the highschool cast are pretty good too with the VA of Shima being the most prominent of them. The OST is cute and relaxed as a proper slice of life Soundtrack should be. The moments of tension dont have a bs soap opera kinda ost and just a somber atmosphere which was a good touch. The OP and ED are mostly cutesy slice of life stuff with not much playlist value in my opinion, but atleast I didnt mind listening through them the first few times..
Art and animation (7/10)
I had my hopes but if we are being honest it tries the generic slice of life approach of toning the colors to the brightest and lightest tints possible but also unlike do it yourself of last season who did do a similar thing but with a unique character design , the character design of skip and loafer is nothing but basic art for characters which we have seen in many shows. The animation however is a bit more high quality and some of the reaction faces and meme faces are drawn and animated quite well, but the highest budget and point was already reached in the mitsumi running scene in the first episode and the sakuga remained on mostly and above average for slice of life, but quite average for an anime with a manga of this caliber if I being honest. Personally I think the art deserved a bit more love.
This is a great show to kick back and relax and a good watch in general as well , this is one of the few examples of slice of life anime that do have a very relaxed plot and setting but do manage to remain a tad bit interesting throughout the whole ride . A must watch for genre fans , and everyone should give a few episodes a try before coming to a conclusion.
PS :- this is my 100th review on myanimelist! Thanks for sticking by (assuming if I have any regular readers xD). I started this since I wanted to discuss anime and at the time I nearly had no interaction in my profile and my IRL friends have only ever watched popular shounen , so I’d love it if you could drop by and let me know what you think about this review or the others in my profile comments it'll help my motivation in writing and improving them. We can also discuss recommendations or anything about anime in general. Thanks for your time and thanks MAL for leading me to a community where I feel that I belong!
