Although the adorable demon lord in Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is not a reincarnated high school girl from Earth, the issues she and Ryou from Tensei Shoujo face are remarkably similar. Both want to modernize humanity and intorudce science-based principles to boost agriculture, fishing and domestic industry. Both girls yearn for family and closeness that they have been denied. Both can get uncomfortably dark at times, but are still look at issues realistically.

Tensei shichatta yo (Iya, Gomen)
add

Tensei shichatta yo is a less ordered, less fun and less complete version of Mushoku Tensei. Both feature MCs dying on Earth, where their lives were less than ideal and being reborn into a noble family in another world, where they vow to study and work hard and just happen win the love of many girls around them. If you really liked the hard work and incremental power-ups and journeys Rudeus goes through in Mushoku Tensei, don't expect much in this LN. Will (The MC of Tensei shichatta yo) is OP pretty much from the start. Regardless, the trials the MCs face and their outlook on the new lives they've been given is rather similar.

Both MCs die and are taken to another world. Both decide to drag their respective goddesses along with them. With harem elements and similar character dynamics, it is highly likely that you will appreciate Konosuba if you like Monster breeder.

Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.
add

Though Smartphone does not have its MC be reborn into another world, the domestic lives of the MCs are quite similar in both series. Smartphone has much less drama than MT, but I think the characters deal with situations in a very similar manner. If you like Rudeus, you'll probably like Touya.

Konosuba is a well-fleshed out Senyuu as far as I can see. If you liked the wacky characters, fast and reckless pacing, overall plot and jokes of Senyuu, you will surely like Konosuba.

Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria

Both deal with a boy dealing with supernatural phenomenon caused by or dealing with. well, "unique" people from their surroundings. The interaction between the male and female MCs of both series is also a bit similar. Both male MCs have a some principles that they never sacrifice while trying to help their friends through the strange phenomenon.

Two young people, a boy and a girl, find themselves being tested by a supernatural being because they find them interesting. In No Game No Life, the siblings help protect the human race in an alien world by playing games with other races. In HakoMari, the supernatural being is interested in the behaviour of a single boy.

Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo
add

Cross Ange is actually quite different from Macross F in its basic storyline, if you look past the obvious mecha and romance subplots, but the themes explored are similar. The idea that people are free to choose their own destiny, that people who we conceive of as different and as the enemy may be remarkably similar to us and that music can transcend boundaries are effectively used in both anime. Some of the characters are also similar. While I definitely preferred Ange, the male MC 'princess' of Macross also displays the characteristic stubbornness, ambition, recklessness and disregard for authority that I liked about Ange. Both are excellent anime and it is worth the time it takes to watch them.

In both manga there is a "Special" division in the school catering to the elite of the academy. The lead heroines are unaccustomed to such splendour and have to get used to this kind of life. There is also the pairing between the poor girl and the rich male student.

Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo
add

Yes, Shinsekai Yori does not have mechas and it does not include as many instances of blatant fanservice. However, the basic question that the viewer is inspired to ask remains the same: What is the price of building an Utopian society and is it practical/moral to discriminate (even to the point of servitude) a minority by using propaganda to frame them as monsters and turn public opinion in the favour of the peace-seeking majority? I find Cross Ange thus far (at episode 10) to provide insightful views on this point and I value its ability to make me think. Be prepared for some cringe-inducing moments in Cross Ange though. The animators don't hold back.

Zankyou no Terror
add

Zankyou no Terror is easily one of the best shows of the year, and it has some similarities with Coppelion, another show I liked. The similarity that meant the most to me is the poignant emotions of the characters arising from the complicated situations they are in. Nuclear energy, the corruption of politicians, medical experimentation on children, the absolute hierarchical tyranny of Japanese bureuacracy and the interference of international powers in internal affairs are shared features of both anime. Both are set in Tokyo (Coppelion in a post-apocalyptic city). In both cases, the characters are led to ponder the question of their own identities and the meaning behind their lives. If you liked one, you will most probably like the other.

The similar principle of having a group of people (resembling teenagers, if not actually teens) maintain balance in a town between normal people and the empowered (spirits, in the case of Yozakura Quartet; minimum holders in the case of Hamatora). Hamatora has a slightly darker vibe than Yozakura Quartet, but YQ is funnier, in my honest opinion.

It deals with a couple of people in a club, with one socially withdrawn, but sharply observant guy and an introverted girl who wishes to change herself. The girl has a good impact on the social life of the guy. Hyouka is classier though, and the animations are gorgeous.

In both works, a boy enters into a world that is new for him. There is a melancholy feeling infused and in both cases, we are asked to ponder this question -- must we 'move on' even if we are perfectly comfortable in our present surrounding? Nerawareta Gakuen is a movie with gorgeous visuals, but Angel Beats has a much better soundtrack. Both movies will make you feel a lot of feels.
