Both animes have romantic and boy surrounded by girls. Also both have some drama and little humour too. Characters aren't that alike, but the feeling which you get from them, is quite similar.

If you liked Kanon (2006) add

...then you might like Clannad add

The characters are really similar by nature; Yuuichi and Tomoya are both pretty sarcastic and there is plenty of girls around him. Also girls resembles each others on strange ways. Also the animation is done by the same studio. And both animes have "snow opening".

If you liked Shakugan no Shana add

...then you might like Zero no Tsukaima add

There are little issues what resemble each others. In Zero no Tsukaima is talking sword, in Shakugan no Shana is talking amulet (+ book). In Zero no Tsukaima the maincharacter girl is powerful and fanatic, so in Shakugan no Shana. In Shakugan no Shana the maincharacter boy has got thought little... accident and is following the girl. Also, he want to become stronger. And so is in Zero no Tsukaima too. And also, Shana and Louise has the same seiyuu, but also Saito and Yuuji has the same one so if you just listen to them, it's hard to tell which anime you're watching now.

In both animes are fighting creatures, not really humans. They have to find a partner who is able to grow their powers. The winner is going to get some big reward, but first she have to eliminate others.

They both use ninja themes in the series, there is also lot of action in both of them, and both main characters hold some big power inside of them.

If you liked Elfen Lied add

...then you might like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Onikakushi-hen add

Their drawing style is similar and they are both horror mangas.
