This is the story of Dai a young boy who dreams of becoming a hero. This anime chronicles his adventures, the bonds he makes along the way and the struggles he must overcome in order to become the hero he always dreamed of being.
In this journey he learns about the world around him and he learns more about himself, he grows as an individual and becomes stronger as well. He cares deeply for his friends and those important to him, he is a disciple of a man called Avan who’s also the teacher of some of Dai’s friends.
Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (2020) ... is an amazing anime. It adapts a classic manga that has greatly influenced manga after it.
It has great world building and lore, great fantasy mechanics and a great sense of adventure. The characters are memorable, the animation is well animated and the OST is great and impactful.
The characters are fleshed out and are well developed. They go through trials and tribulations that develop them physically, mentally and emotionally.
The story is fantastical, emotional, inspirational and engaging. I recommend it if you like anime with adventure, fantasy, world building and lore.
