A anime with great potential but is kinda ruined by plot conveniece...
[Major spoilers ahead]
It all starts with a doctor that loves AI (an idol), he talks about AI like he wanted to date her, something weird AF as she isn't even around his age, but anyway... He says he loves her because one of his pacients used to love her aswell and before dying she (his pacient) says something about "what if you reborn as an idol's son/daughter". Later on, AI appears pregnant, of course on the same hospital he's in, she says it's because nobody might know she's pregnant, otherwise this would ruin this
...
girl's whole career.
After this introduction the plot conveniece gets more and more uninteresting, first of a mysterious guy appears outside of the hospital asking about AI to the protagonist, he then run away to a forest and the protagonist goes after him realizing he's a stalker, then ending up next to a cliff. Ok, so before we continue with the story, after you watch episode 2 and 3 you realize this anime push the protagonist as such smart of a guy he's, said that let's go back to when he encounters with the stalker. The question is why he run into the forest at night and stand next to a cliff looking to literally nothing for seconds instead of going back and tell AI someone found out her secret? He might be smart but not when plot conveniece want him to die like "stand here next to this safest cliff ever, nobody is gonna push you, trust me" and then he dies the sh-wordest and du-wordest way possible.
Then, he reborn as AI's son (like the girl said), with all of his memories, including acting adult in a baby's body. For someone that wanted to date AI he now loves her like his mother (weird AF part 2), but doesn't drink from her milk at least. AI's twins (yes, we have 2 people reborning as AI's son/daughter) starts to grown up and try to protecc their mother, but I'll call this a sh-word protection because, again, now the protagonist (named Aqua), even with all his memories, still doesn't care to the stalker's intentions that got him killed. Again the stalker find out about AI location and go after her, only after he kills AI that he starts to think how tf the stalker found out AI was in his hospital past in his another life. Dude, you got killed by him and had years growing up with your adult's mind perfectly reasoning about things, you still waited this long to solve the mystery? You don't even said to your sister or baby-sitter he might been a problem to AI? This is explained again by plot conveniece wanted her to die, so they nerfed Aqua's IQ another time.
It really seemed like a lazy plot writing...
Although all of this. Oshi no Ko talks about interesting topics.
-Idols don't usually have a healthy personal life, having babies or boyfriends might ruin their whole career
-Stalkers are dangerous with all of their death treats, obsession or similar
-They need to fake happiness even when they're down bad about something
-Most of the entertainment industry doens't care about people they work with at all
Another strong points:
-Animation is so damn pretty, they did a fantastic job with this show
-Very good work with ost and sounds in general
In the end, I'd rate this show as a 7/10 at best, even with a weak plot I still can enjoy it a little 'cause of the strong points I said above.
