Random short stories of few minutes that (for Nichijou: mostly) take place in school. Tonari no Seki-kun features one story per episode, Nichijou features multiple stories in one episode, sometimes even split up into multiple parts featured on different episodes. However, Nichijou episodes are ~three times longer. The overall setting, feeling and humor is very similar, so If you like either of these, you'll love the other.
