Bakuman.

About a boy with no real goals, developing a big dream. For Bakuman it's manga, Beck it's music. They may seem like completely different dreams, but both animes show the ups and downs of making it big in each respected craft, about starting small and eventually making it big time. Both have about the same elements of romance, Beck is a lot more crude though (f + mf words - spoken in english however), and they both give you that giddy feeling when a conflict is overcome

Both aren't for the light-hearted and fairly deep plots. Very sci-fi centered themes. Psycho-Pass has a future and adult based setting whereas Mirai Nikki is more of a present, fictional and (slight) high school setting. Psycho-Pass is, however, superior.
