Having never heard of the original series, I was immediately sceptical when I saw its promotional visual; a cheerful teenage girl with canine ears. It screamed all the red flags. A furry, and a teenage one at that, travelling alone with a middle-aged man? Sounds like the start of some sick pedophiliac fantasy of a Japanese Ossan.
