Let me start of by saying 1. This review is done by a female and 2. Yes I do particularly like anime's filled with a lot of good looking guys. But no, I do not just watch certain anime's for that reason.
I don't write very many reviews either... So I can't really say this is going to be a good one.
When I first decided to watch this, I had no idea it was an Otome game. Plus, I didn't even realize the main girl didn't have a name. Fail on my part twice. Around the third episode I was really confused and began looking at
...
comments seeing if others were confused too, but no, most of the people watching it knew it was a game. Knowing that, I understood why she didn't have a name. So there was one less thing to bug me.
Now onto the different parts of the story.
Beginning:
We find out she has amnesia. Kind of obvious since it's the title. At this point in time it doesn't seem like she's dating anyone. She's just really confused and trying to trigger her memories. What would any typical person do if they lost their memories. How was she to know if she truly did know those people? And then the part where I became confused happened.
Each character has their own tragic story. One of those typical "you saved me from myself" kind of things.
Shin:
Didn't really care for this guy. He's young, brash, smart alec, and acts superior. You don't really know what's going on at this point, and the Heroine is trying to piece together what happened in the beginning.
Ikki:
From this point, things could either get really confusing or they start making sense. I liked Ikki, a lot. Though I must say he has one of the scariest fan clubs I've seen in anime yet. ._.
Kento:
Genius, kind-hearted but can't express himself well, awkward, not really sure about human emotion. He's so smart, that he actually explained what was going on just based on what had happened so far. However, that can't be the end, that had to be some sort of twist.
Toma:
Crazy Ukyo appears when it's Toma's turn. Which is fitting because we find out that Toma is... well.. kind of a psychopath himself. ._.
Why he's the favorite of a lot of girls I will never know.
Ukyo:
My personal favorite. Split-personality. But his actual self is really amazing, not the other side. We had seen him previously often, both personalities. So it wasn't hard to put together he had a personality disorder. During Ukyo's turn, all the action happens. This part would have to be, in my opinion, the best part of the anime. Here is where all the suspense happens if there were to be any.
End:
At first, I was kind of mad at the ending. I mean, how could you end it without resolving where she ended up? But then I remembered it was an Otome Game and that she actually had a choice. And since she is the viewer, that meant the choice was ours to make. So I couldn't really knock of points for the ending.
Lost points:
Story:
They could have given each character equal time. It wasn't fair that most had two episodes whereas Kento only had one.
Art:
Though I liked the colors of the anime, and the use of the card symbols, the art itself felt too... how should I put this... plain. For an anime geared towards girls it was just kind of plain.
Character:
This goes back to how little time she had with each person. There wasn't much character development. The Heroine had practically no character at all besides agree and disagree based on what answers one probably would have given in the game.
Enjoyment:
I didn't really like all the scenes with Orion. They could have been shortened.
Overall: 7/10 but of course you probably already knew that since it shows.
Review aside, if I were to play this game, personally, I would have probably either chosen Ikki, Kento, or Ukyo. Most likely Ukyo because I really liked him. :)
I typed more than I thought I would. o.o

Well, let me start out by saying that this has to be one of the most overdramatized anime's I have ever seen! Everything about it reminded me of a soap opera!
However, I completely enjoyed watching this, which is odd since I hate soap opera's! The characters, though a bit annoying at some times, were really well thought out. For the time period this was made in the animation was decent. I LOVE the music they chose, the voices all fit! And the story...
Well, the story could've been perfect but I really had to dock it down a point because it really did get repetive
...
at times. Way too much jealousy over and over again.
The ending was what really did it for me though. Two of the most important things for a story; the beginning and the end. Of course the beginning was wonderful otherwise I wouldn't have gotten hooked watching it! Yet, the ending was completely different from all the repetive stuff! It really was like "Oh my goodness that can't POSSIBLY be true!"
I was completely overwhelmed with the amount of drama! And I ADORE drama! Drama is what gets the heart pumping and makes you jump up and down, cry, or shout out of anger. The show really gets the viewer sucked into their own world! You see the faults of everyone loud and clear! Some are pushy but really sweet while others are cool and collected on the outside and a mess on the inside.
Overall, if you love dramaa as much as I do I COMPLETELY recommend this. Though I do warrn you, you'll get annoyed at the repetetiveness of it a few times. ;)

Throughout the 13 episodes, each one brought one word in particular in mind. Peaceful. Natsume Yuujinchou was an extremely peaceful show. Much different from most of which I had been watching recently. Every episode left me with a sense of peace, a warm and fuzzy feeling within my heart.
The plot was alright, nothing particularly amazing about it. The art was not outstanding but more than alright. However, the sound was outstanding. Simple, but fitting. It was the kind of music that you would put on after a long, hard day to relax. The type of music that one would use to fall asleep peacefully.
...
Characters were nothing too special, they were alright. Unselfish guy trying to protect everyone, even the youkai which he says he's always wished he had never seen. Enjoyment is obvious if it gives one that warm and fuzzy feeling inside. So, overall, I would say this anime was great. Not outstanding, but noticeable. The perfect way to end a day, to just watch a few episodes. Or, you could easily finish this in one sitting.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. That's the most prominent word in my mind when I begin to describe this masterpiece.
Story: Every story could easily be better. The plot was straightforward, but if they elaborated more on the ending it could have been so much better. 9
Art: Truly, the animation was outstanding! Sure, the explosions and Kor may have been a bit overdone, but even so that does not take away any from the beauty. 10
Sound: The opening theme was brilliant. One of the few opening themes I actually enjoyed, and it never bored me to listen to it. I really loved how the ending song was
...
blended into the end of the episode. No matter what the situation was, that music just seemed to fit. Then the music within the episodes set the perfect mood. 10
Character: It was easy to get attached to these characters. So easy, in fact, that I found myself crying a lot. They probably could have shown more about some of the other characters, but that very well could have been overkill. The characters they elaborated on were just right so there really wasn't much more that was needed. 10
Enjoyment: After all this praise, it'd be hard to imagine saying anything bad about the show. Which is why it should be obvious that I enjoyed watching this anime completely. 10
Overall: This should be obvious as well. 10
Like I said, it was just beautiful.

Well, it wasn't awful, but it most definitely was not the best in the world. Normally, I'm a big fan of fillers since they can be quite hilarious. This 12 episode anime, however, didn't really have much of a plot. There was one, obviously, but it was mainly a "Let's see how many times we can make it perverted."
Instead of the perversion, the makers of this show could have expanded on the plot more and the conclusion may have been better. To end it the way they did just was not right.
The only way I would truly recommend this show is if you
...
can't think of anything else to watch and just want something to pass the time.
