This movie is amazing. It is so emotionally rich, it brought me to tears.


Note: It's very important to watch this movie Dubbed... because the Dub director paid very close attention to translating the Haikus. The Subbed translation loses a lot of the essence of the script with it's almost robotic/word to word translation... rather than capturing the emotional flow of each poem. 

Without a good translation of the haikus... the story loses its charm... so experiencing it dubbed is much better. 


The story is grounded in feeling empathy. To truely embrace the meaning behind every action, one must consider how the characters are feeling. When you understand ... their points of view... the meaning behind everything in this movie becomes so much more meaningful and impactful. 


So many scenes make you tear up not because a charcter said something sad... but because you know the backstory and personality of the charcter, so you can understand that the situation would be sad to them and no one else. Often, one charcter will start crying and the other characters don't understand why... until they come to understand that charcter's outlook on the situation and it becomes clear to them that that was emotionally painful/sensitive for them. 


Visually speaking, this is quite possibly the most stylish anime I have ever seen. The way the animators switched from the Studio Trigger's choppy/sudden movement style in the skateboarding scene to the suttle Kyo-Ani type animation for the rest of the film was so cool. I love how every little movement towards the end of the story has so much detail and beauty... because the audience is starting to realize how important those movements are to the character(Speaking in front of an audience, taking off the mask, taking off their headphones, etc)


And the color is so beautiful... Easily the most praiseworthy aspect of this film. The MC's words bubble up like soda pop... and so do the bright colors in this movie. 😊 

It's amazing how many contrasting yet bright colors there are. They all are constantly adding warmth and lightheartedness to the story... only to switch to dark and dreary colors when the tone of the story dies down and becomes sad. 

Also, the contrast of warm to dreary colors is simply complimentary to to the story... when the happy times occur during day time, and then intense/tragic moments happen at night or during the sunset. 

These light contrasts on the screen are plainly symbolic of the charcter's inner feelings. Think of the characters feelings when the MC sees the street lights come on before the sun's light becomes dim (He is happier than normal)... or when he is running through the dark(Tragic and sad) while Yuki is hopefully filming under the festival lights (Warthm and happiness) with her phone. 

It all comes together when the fireworks go off. 🥰🥰🥰

Masterful art direction. Truly incredible. 


While this movie may seem like a throwaway movie for audiences expecting obviously emotional messages... It is extremely creative, emotionally impactful, and beautiful in its use of subtle messaging, relying on empathy, and letting small inferences help you to understand the characters better. 


9.5/10, and I would love to meet someone who shares this appreciation for this near-masterpiece of a movie.

I think this anime is an absolute must watch. This season of Aggretsuko went away from discussing situations at work to discussing situations out of work. It discusses unemployment, homelessness, no motivation to work or get a job, the whole situation where you need to ask your parents for money when you are almost broke... It just preached about new adults and how their financial situations work. I loved 3 scenes in this anime... they each discussed something related to work as a concept or shoving society on its butt and doing what you want. The show is like, "What is work? Why do we ... do it? What's the point?" or "Why do I need a full time job? Getting hired is such a hassle. Can't I just work part time forever?" The answers to these questions were so profound that I paused the tv, walked around the house for 10 minutes thinking about it, then went back to the tv and to quote the entire scene on my notes app.

Fanworks has a very unique anime style. I am personally a fan of the style, but besides that you can see some really good upgrades from season 1 to season 5 in animation. There were quite a few panorama scenes or scenes with big zoom outs that were animated well. The music is awesome, as it has been in the previous seasons.

The characters in this season are really fun. They each have their unique quirks or personalities that make for fun character interaction and plot points. I love all the characters in this anime, and it's fun to realize how many of them have really deep and intense character arcs/backstories. Yes, this office place comedy show has characters with deep and intense character arcs. Aggretsuko is just built different.

This show discusses so many societal issues... and even society its self... and has the most amazing dilouge for when it does. God tier script. The overall plot of the story was very good as well. There are like 12 different plot points in a 10 episode anime. It was amazing. I would recommend this show to anyone. Please consider watching it. It's a must watch for the information it gives and the enjoyment I experienced when watching it.

This anime is by far the best I have seen, here's why. This anime makes you appreciate flashbacks. The story uses flashbacks sooooooo well, as it is about reminiscing about each character's past. The animation is incredibly stunning by itself. If you took away everything else and just watched the characters move... it is still so amazing. The music does absolute wonders for this show with its extremely emotional piano chords. The violin accompaniment to the piano made me swoon. I especially loved the animation of moving noodles and steam. Cooking is very cool in most animes... but this anime shines in that department. There's ... one scene from this shoe that makes me cry just thinking about it. It 's extremely well done and was very emotional. Please give this a watch. You won't regret it.

Fun Star Wars content in an experimental anime. It shows off things that newer anime studios can do. Studio Trigger's episodes "The Elder" and "The Twins" had the best action... Geno Studio's "Lop and Ocho" had the best story by far. Quality heavily varies each episode, so it is hard to rate, but an overall good time regardless. I would rather watch this again than the movies. I highly respect Star Wars for trying out new ways to express their stories and hope they do a full-fledged anime soon. This is also a good anime to get new anime watchers interested in the genre.

The first 8 volumes of this series has left me speechless. Pure gold every page. The manga illustrations are insane... The artist manages to do superb facial expressions on animal characters, perfectly fitting the character's personality as well. The plot has plenty of meaning toward the state of society. Characters each have their own distinct personalities, which makes character interaction super fun. Legosi, the main character, has lots of deep thoughts that take you aback often. Also, Beastars won the Manga Taisho Award. I read the first 8 in 1 week because I was so hooked, highly recommend to 16+ readers.
