From the reviews i've seen about this, I don't believe most of them do this anime justice with what weight it really holds in its entirety. If you wanna take it at complete shallow face value then yes, Kuzu no Honkai is depressing and is "misery for misery's sake full of horny trash teens that don't know what they want"
But if you're someone whose experienced love in any forms while growing and being lonely & struggling to find your happiness in the world by placing that importance on another then you'll really appreciate the entirety of this.

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni has got to be one of my favorite anime's of all time. In order for you to fully grasp the concept of what's going on though you must finish season 2 Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai. If you stop at this season then you'll never get the answers you need in order to understand what the hell is going on.
