I love this anime. I love everything about this anime. There is nothing I can point to and say "Despite this, I really liked this show". It's absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible, and has good humor on top of that. Even the single filler episode is fun to watch. The 3rd episode has a fight high-caliber enough to be the finale of most other shows, and a relatively entertaining one at that. Plus, this is just the first half. Things get really crazy later on as your entire view of the world collapses and the stakes get, well, ridiculous (Don't want to spoil ... anything, but just trust me that it gets better) On top of all this, there's just that nice extra layer of horny. Kill La Kill isn't for everyone, but its definitely for me. I can say with absolute confidence that this is my favorite anime. 10/10

I feel like this could have been an amazing story. It sets up so much character development for the main cast. It sets up a grand over 100 episode adventure. It sets up what could be debatably the best isekai to exist, manga or anime. But that's all it is, a setup. It introduces the main characters, shows the start of a grand adventure, and ends the season there. Besides, a second season hasn't been guaranteed, so this might be the end of the show. We've been given a beginning of a masterpiece, with no time to add substance. Normally a show this short would ... redeem the length by being comedy-driven, or having a short enough plot to fit everything in 12 episodes. after all, there are a ton of wonderful anime that are this short. But Mushoku Tensei does none of that. As it is, it just leaves you feeling empty. So all it deserves is a 7.
