Kodomo no Jikan is a title known for it's reputation. This series is often associated with being a series for those who have proclivities toward anime children and is that reputation unearned? I would say no. This is a a series that very much in the forefront touts it's fanservice as a selling point. I watched this one a good while ago and it was the controversy around it that brought me to look into the series after seeing a "did you know anime" video on it long ago.

Though I would not normally critique something on it's objectionable content so heavily however ... here it is very present so it is an exception.
Here are my thoughts.

Our main story here is about a new teacher, Daisuke Aoki starting at an elementary school. The main girl, Rin Kokonoe in this story is known as a bit of a problem child in the classroom having caused other teachers to quit. Upon starting his new job as a teacher Aoki is teased by Rin often in shockingly sexual ways such as lifting her skirt only to reveal her gym shorts under them or writing a sexual phrase during kanji practice. Rin's behavior is very clearly a way to give the intended audience what they want. I'm sure the people who have these problematic tastes will enjoy this aspect a lot however to a normal viewer this can be interpreted differently. Either it is viewed as "just for laughs" (my own opinion on my initial viewing of it) or it is seen as just disturbing or creepy. It's not to say that Rin's antics are not relevant to the story as the series does focus on Rin's troubled family life and that does play into why my opinion is mixed on this one.

Very early on we find out Rin's mother is deceased and she lives with a man who was her mom's lover before her death. This leads to a lot more of Rin's heartfelt character development and Rin's behavior is often her yearning for the attention of Aoki in a way of "any attention is good attention". Rin's antics are frequently way too much. To the point at one point she actually sexually assaults Aoki on the bus to a field trip making for one of the most outright uncomfortable scenes in the whole series additionally she has at least two times in the series she feigns being preyed upon herself, once to blackmail Aoki and another to get his attention. Unfortunately for everything good this series has going for it, for every heartfelt moment there is also one that is disturbingly sexual in a way only the intended audience of this show will excuse.

Overall: I do not recommend this show to a majority of watchers, it falls short of it's potential in lieu of appealing to those who find it's female lead sexually appealing and it's genuinely good moments are too few to redeem this show. Had this series not been made with the intent of appealing to a specific sect of fans it "could have" been great. I could have only watched this series when I did, at a time where I could shrug off its sexualization of the characters as "goofy anime tropes" and not as much now that I am more familiar with the group of fans it appeals to.

Opening and Ending themes are still bangers though.

This is a review from someone who watched the new Stardust Crusaders first so I do have some bias toward the new version and can't appriciate this version to the fullest. However that doesn't mean I feel this OVA is bad it's just we live in 2017 and a better adaptation exists. The first thing to note is that while this is the second part to be released it should be watched first as it is the first half of the story.

Art
Since it is the second part the animation is made to match the first 6 episodes released ... in 1993. Which for the reason previously stated is why I can give it a pass for a series that came out from 2000 to 2002, if it wasn't for that strange schedule of release I would expect way more.

Story
The story for the most part follows the manga although it omits and abridges certain parts such as the lesser stand battles. Odds are that your favorite character is still here though. Really there isnt alot to complain about as every major part of the story is still here.

Sound
Now I cannot remember a single composition in this series, It's largely forgettable when it comes to the music. The biggest reason I couldn't appreciate the Voice overs is that even the video game that pre-dates this has a much better Voice over. The voices here are a bit unremarkable but by no means awful unless you're watching the English dub in which the voices seem completely disconnected from the characters as if someone was just talking over the anime.

Now in conclusion I still found this enjoyable as it was another piece of Jojo to watch but I can only recommend it to people who have seen and love all the other Jojo Anime. If you haven't I'd say go ahead and watch the newer version as it's the full story and a much better adaptation.

This is kind of an odd anime, I guess I should start at the first thing I noticed about this show is that it goes by real fast. Not only do the episodes only last 2 minutes but the characters talk quick as hell. This has to be one of the only anime where I had a hard time keeping up with the subtitles. This is also where I find fault with it as I feel some jokes might have been funny if they had enough time to be absorbed but I also never got to know the characters names properly except for Yuri (I ... had to go back and look up the others' names).
From they're actions I could say I liked the Kanae (Pink haired girl) and Marimo (Lighter Blue hair girl) as they're antics find the shows speed well but that doesn't make up for the fact I was always left not knowing what to think of what I just saw. I will conclude with saying that this show just needs a slight slow down in it's speed maybe like 10% which would make each episode 2:20 minutes in length, something I feel would allow the viewer enough time to laugh at something before being bombarded by more jokes.
