Booooooooooooooooo
Season 3 was really dissapointing compared to the other 2 seasons which both were absolute masterpieces. Im not sure everyone will like this.
It starts of fine with the divine tree arc, which was nothing too crazy on its own, but pretty enjoyable. But its what after that comes. They spend 2 episodes focusing on mob helping the telepathy club so they also get the spotlight, which is fine and all. What isnt fine is how they did it. They deadass made us believe that there are actual aliens in that verse, one random character just pops up out of nowhere to tell everyone he can
...
magically read minds and talk to them trough their minds, and they also end up actually meeting up aliens. Worst part is that its not filler since its literally in the manga aswell. It doesnt add anything up to the story, nor conclusion. It just shows the relationship growing between those characters in the most bullshit, rushed yet stretched out way possible that made absolutely no sense at all.
After that comes the arc i was most hyped for. It actually builds up pretty nice till the accident mob was in. We actually get to learn that mob has another side inside of him which has just been released and is literally destroying the whole city with ease which mob has absolutely no control of. Cool right? He then goes to fight teruki, which the fights in this season are also really dissapointing but ok. They then make us believe that mob quite literally killed teruki, and that teruki used the last of his remaining power to save everyone around him who was about to die instead of try fighting mob any more since he's realised that he already lost, which is such an amazing conclusion to his character. But no, ofc that was a lie. Ofc he gets to still live his life like NOTHING had happened at all. There was absolutely no reason to revive him from the death. It would've added up so much to his and mob's character aswell if that would've been his conclusion. All the emotion I had in that scene just vanished once I saw him alive. Also it made absolutely no sense what Ritsu did, like at all. All of the sudden he gains powers to try and defeat his brother. Not only does he do like nothing AT ALL, but it also doesnt add up to anything in the story or to anyones character AT ALL. The writer really just threw it in there and said 'whatever'. Also this isnt anything too big of a problem, but I wouldve hoped they could've thrown someone really strong at him to atleast give him a bit of a challange so we could atleast see a big final fight, which we also didnt really get to see.
Although i have alot of critisism for this arc, I loved how Reigen approached him and how he finally admitted to his lies which let to mob finally accepting himself and accepting him for who he really should be. That was a nice touch to only their conclusions
BUT THENNNNN when we get to the epilogue which is also lotta bullshit. We see the whole city build up like nothing happened at all. We see ALL OF THE CHARACTERS alive for no reason, even teruki. and we just see mob not only living his life, but he lives it even better than before. Thats right, after this mf destroyed a whole ass city, was about to/could just commit mass genocide on most, if not, all Japan bc of one girl if he didnt end up gaining control after Reigen approached him, and barely killed his friends and family, he ends up living the best life he could've asked for. Like who cares about consuquences right??
I could say so much more wrong with this season, even putting the story aside, but i cant bare myself to acc do that shit lol😭
So to keep it simple: a huge dissapointment
