Hey everyone! I just want to clarify that this anime is NOT a romance. While it may be categorized as one and the plot might suggest otherwise, it's important to approach it with that understanding. In my view, it leans more towards being a cliché comedy series. The show features quite a few flat moments and doesn’t take itself seriously at all.
When I first watched it, I was really bothered by the fact that the main character doesn’t experience any emotional growth, and the side characters often come off as superficial and unkind. At that time, I was under the impression that it was primarily
...
a romance.
However, when I revisited it six years later, I had a completely different perspective. I realized that the true aim of the plot isn’t for the main character to end up with one of the attractive boys but rather to find friends who accept her for who she is. This also means being honest about your thoughts while having the humility to apologize when necessary.
Even though the series has its shortcomings in some areas, I would still recommend it because the comedy at times comes close to Gintama or GTO levels. I laughed often, and the art style made me feel nostalgic for the old animes I watched as a kid. (P.S. Watch the anime in English if you want to hear the main characters scream lewd things out loud, or watch it in Japanese if that constant screeching gets on your nerves.) Have fun! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and like I said, don’t take the anime too seriously.
The series is still relatively unknown, but in my opinion, it deserves a more fans.
