Ender Geister is a callback and love letter to many action movies and other great films. Takashi Yomoyama calls inspiration from all sorts of movies using their best qualities to write a manga that is just a fun read. This manga feels like an action movie, it is easy to relax and enjoy it. This is paired with some of the best art of any currently publishing manga. Nothing is skimped on, it is high detail, and extremely professional. All of the line art is super clean leading to some of the most satisfying fight scenes. A large part of the reason why this manga
...
is so good is because the art creates the same enjoyment as a top tier big budget action scene. This manga truly is an action movie recreated as a comic.
The inspiration from movies could not be clearer. Each chapter is named after a movie, with tons of easter eggs and references thrown in, and Takashi Yomoyama has some really good taste. Movies spanning all genres, decades and countries are thrown in. References often aren't only an easter egg, it is a tribute to how these shaped the author’s style. I love that a chapter references Deathproof, Quinten Tarintino’s B-Movie, and once you know that Takashi Yomoyama takes inspiration from him, it becomes clear why some scenes are written in a similar style. Scenes with meaningless dialogue building the characters and suspense is very reminiscent of Tarintino.
Takashi Yomoyama is an extremely talented artist, so even if you are not a huge movie buff, the art can easily carry any reader through the story. It is hard to match the sort of passion and dedication that he has. It is a shame if anyone were to overlook this manga because even just paging through it is a treat, every page full of detail. It is a manga produced through passion and it is apparent.
Although I am a huge fan of this manga, Ender Geister is not perfect. The writing can be hit and miss. Generally the character writing and dialogue is great but the overall world building can be confusing and complex. It is often hard to figure out how the greater world works as a whole, and not because it is kept as a secret. It is just strange to have a modern setting, with sci-fi elements that sometimes work from ghosts and other fantasy elements. Regardless I don’t think it is a big deal, it doesn’t detract from the enjoyment. It just leads it into a pitfall as many other action movies where it is hard to take it seriously.
Ender Geister deserves more attention. The author is dedicated and passionate and this passion’s effect cannot be understated. Often with manga it is difficult to see why the author is writing it, sometimes feeling even soulless. But this manga is different from that, there is a huge sense of love and care given to this. Takashi Yomoyama wants to create the same sort of feeling that the movies that he derives inspiration from gave to him and that is a really wonderful thing. This is an easy read and very well worth a shot.

I like this manga because it puts a very original and unique spin on the typical romance manga. Although don't get me wrong either as a basic romance manga this one is definitely cute and enjoyable, having the twist of moon people creates the conflict needed to both keep me interested and drive the story.
It is definitely a shake up when the girl you like turns out to be an alien moon person who as tradition eats their spouse. The main girl is a moon princess who eats their love while the main boy is a boy who loves her but doesn't want to
...
die. This dynamic shakes up the traditional romance in a way I have not seen before and opens the door to character development. This is where I feel many manga fall flat where the characters are static, unchanging. But in this manga the characters learn about each others love and adapt that love to each others wants and needs, mainly the want to not be eaten. This is handled brilliantly and the characters are really cute.
I have enjoyed it a good amount and I think you will as well.

This manga is not good at all. In fact it is very bad. I think the idea behind this manga was "What if we reincarnated, but I make guns?" This manga is about as flat as this idea. This entire premise is the only thing that this manga ever presents. The main character is terribly written with her only apparent motivation ever being the fact that she really likes guns. It appears that there are attempts at comedy but this cant be confirmed as it never really hits the mark. Any time there is a hint at a joke it is overshadowed by the reminder
...
that the main character has a gun.
The story is also dreadful. Their are attempts at conflict but from the get go it is explained in the title that the protagonist intends on solving every problem with guns. And as it turns out this makes for a very boring story. Why even bother to have conflict when the protagonist just shoots any opposition. I have one problem though because that sounds kind of interesting, and the story cant have that. The reality is that there is no conflict that cannot be solved by shooting it with zero backlash. If there would be some greater conflict formed by shooting something, then that conflict doesn't exist in the first place. There is no depth to the story and it is terrible.
The art is mediocre and there isnt much to say about it.
There are some final things that really bothered me that didn't fit in elsewhere. The first of which is that this story is entirely about guns yet there is zero detail about the guns or how they are made or anything. Everything is just hand waved away saying this is a pistol but not even giving it a name. Really disappointing that you couldn't even give detail about the one portion of the story. The other glaring issue to me is that the author pushes romance so heavily on the characters, with the character being either 4 or 6 years old. 4 years old can be considered a toddler. Why are they acting like they are over a decade older. Just make them a decade older if you want them to be 16 or 18. It would change absolutely nothing about the story.
Overall this manga is terrible it is not worth reading.

I think that this manga is enjoyable and good if you are looking for a light read.
This manga is a comedy where many of the jokes hit the mark for me. The story characters and art are not anything special but these all work in favor towards the many jokes and one liners that make up this comedy.
For instance let us take the art. While it is nothing that looks amazing it isn't bad either, but there are times that it is purposefully reduced to enhance a joke especially the running gag of the phoenix. This is done extremely well and it really enhances my
...
enjoyment. This is done throughout the few chapters constantly out and it is done masterfully.
This is also done with the story and the characters, despite both not being outstanding, the usage of making their shortcomings the butt of the jokes makes the enjoyment much greater than it would otherwise be. Although sometimes the humor is crude, the jokes presented do not often fall short.
This manga does not present anything extraordinary, yet despite that it does an amazing job of working with what it does present to create some genuinely funny moments. Definitely worth a read if you are looking for a lighthearted comedy. By the way the phoenix is the best character.

This manga seems at first to be incredibly average, and I will not argue with you at that. It is an incredibly average manga with next to no interesting things about it. So given that it is average you would expect that I would rate it a 5 as that is average but I have a counter. This manga is so incredibly boring. It brings absolutely nothing new to the table to present any interest. The story is very basic with an old powerful A-Rank wanting to live a slow life. There is a cute girl there and she likes him and that is the
...
entire story. Nothing else of note happens with the characters being extremely flat. I cant even really rate their personality because it is nonexistent. For everyone. There is absolutely nothing memorable which I guess is a plus because at least you will not have you mind filled with this mediocre nothingness. Overall this manga is bad and not worth reading.

I have a soft spot for manga about being reincarnated as a villainess and this manga is definitely unique among them. This manga stars our young nobel who in her past life loved the background character in an otome game. So of course when she is reincarnated into that world she makes sure to find him and propose.
The story here is definitely the best part. It is unique, fresh and most importantly, executed well. The characters also become fall in love and become engaged and act in ways befitting that. For instance, our two leads trust and believe in one another enough that it
...
is believable that they could be in love and marry. This sort of character building and writing caries this manga and is what makes it truly enjoyable.
This manga is only brought down by it's art, which is not a huge obstacle in this type of manga. there is nothing blatantly wrong with it and that is enough for a manga where it is not the focus. The focus here is on the story and it does that well enough.
This manga is enjoyable and is worth reading if you have the time. It is not the best out there but it is unique enough and has good enough writing that I think you will find it enjoyable. I recommend this but not strongly. The main issue here is that although it is fairly good and enjoyable, it is not great or fantastic. There is nothing here give it more thought and I think that is fine. It is a light read that I think you will get enough enjoyment out of it that it would be worth your time to pick it up.

Despite how similar this looks to an isekai, this is in fact not one, but it wouldn't make much of a difference even if it was one. This is a story of an overpowered protagonist in a generic fantasy world. This story fills all of the requirements for a generic isekai so well that I had to go check to make sure that it wasn't. However, believe me, this isn't a good thing.
To be fair, the magic system has actual changes from the generic formula with the beginning chapter displaying the world's power system though dialogue and actions rather than a forced explanation. In fact
...
the characters are merely shown eating apples to increase their stats and this opening scene is actually really well done. It introduces the fact that there are stats, while also introducing the main conflict point of the greedy hero antagonist taking the magic apples from the useless mage antagonist. This strong start piqued my interest enough to read through to what is currently published. Unfortunately this is about where the story plateaus.
The change from weakling virgin protagonist to chad overpowered protagonist is poorly handled but not terrible and this is the general feeling for the entity of the manga. This manga isn't terrible or even really bad, but there isn't anything that makes it good either. It goes from being a bad generic fantasy manga to flat lining at average. The characters are not offensively bad or stupid but they are instead one dimensional and boring. The dialogue is ok but there is nothing that really pushes it above mediocre.
About the best thing I can say about the character interactions is that it is a blessing that at least they have the balls to ask people out and go on dates, which actually allows for something to happen. Unfortunately, the writing for the interactions between romantic interested characters is really lacking and so it again leaves you with a very ok feeling.
This manga definitely isn't terrible and it does enough things that are unique that I can say I enjoyed it a fair bit. However, there are so many other fantasy and isekai manga out there that tell a very similar story that this really isn't worth reading. This manga is so mediocre that I am sure you can find something that can fill your time better.
