Hello people, before reading this review, I'd like to clarify this is my first review on My Anime List. Said that, there will be some stuff you will probably disagree with me since I'm unexperienced at judging animes.


Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi or Spirited Away it's an anime which revolves around the fact of the girl Chihiro and her parents moving to a different city. On the way to his new house, his father decides to take a shortcut. They come across a table laden with food, though no one is around. Chihiro senses danger, but his parents start eating. When it gets dark, they ... turn into pigs. Now, only Chihiro can save them.

Talking about the story now, I have some negative points that kinda destroyed my experience watching this film:
1- The story follows the same formula that such a lot of films used before, the formula consists on a normal girl that after some incidents joins to a magic world. You dont need to think so much to remember a film that you've seen before with that same formula.
2- I had a confusing experience watching this film, the story has no focus. This is just me, you might disagree with this point.
3- There's some stuff that could be developed a lot better, an example it's the event that happened on Chihiro's life that was presented near the end of the film, when she felt on a river and haku saved her life preventing her from drownin, and then Chihiro remembered the river name and then Haku suddenly remembered his name. It would be awesome if that one event got developed a lot more.

Overall I recomend this film, especially for a younger public. One thing that definitely carries this film it's the animation and the ambientation. Characters desings are to interesting and I really like how all the places in this film were presented, no wonder this got an oscar for the best animation movie on 2003.
